Mid Coast

Conditions are glassy on the Mid Coast early with very light NE winds, and it’s also pretty chilly early with clear skies. Surf is tiny on the outgoing tide and the reefs are only picking up occasional 1′ waves. The beachies will probably have small learner waves through low tide mod morning. Northerly winds are forecast to pickup to around 15 knots, so it’ll be bumpy and almost flat after lunch. Great day to hang on the coast but you’re not going surfing.  Shred factor 2mid2

Onshore SE winds overnight have left conditions lumpy the South Coast this morning, tending light Easterly early. Swell has also dropped a it with surf around 3 – 4′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and peaky 2′ waves around at Chiton / Gap. Things may improve later today with winds forecast to shift offshore NE, probably late arvo.  Shred factor 6/10

Mid Coast

It’s a chilly morning on the Mid Coast with clear skies and a light offshore ESE wind. Conditions are glassy with 1′ waves on the reefs, and occasional bigger sets. The tide is heading out toward a low at 1030, and that will favour the beachies mid morning. The incoming tide may provide a small pulse around lunch time or early arvo, but an onshore sea breeze may follow soon after. Winds should head back to the SE again in the evening and clean it up for a late Mally wave. Shred factor 6/10

West winds are around 10 knots on the South Coast early and conditions are a bit bumpy along exposed stretches. There is a reasonable south swell running and surf is a good 4’+ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, just a bit wobbly. It’s cleaner and part sheltered around at Chiton / Gap and there are 3′ waves with a few bigger sets sneaking in now and then. The Dump has some smaller waves as well.  Winds are not gonna get better today, and the arvo looks more onshore with winds tending S-SE in the evening. Next few hours will be the best of it.  Shred factor 6/10

Mid Coast

Onshore WSW winds around 10 – 15 knots are making for bumpy conditions on the Mid Coast this morning, but there is some swell. Surf is around 2′ on the reefs,  and the tide is heading out to a minor low at 10am. There’s not much movement in the tide today and SW winds will keep it bumpy for the better part of the day. Probably the best chance for a paddle is late arvo / evening, when winds should drop and tend S-SE.   Shred factor 4/10

Conditions are semi-clean on the South Coast early with West winds around 20 knots. Swell is a bit bigger this morning with surf  around 3 – 4′ and a bit wind effected along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch. Middleton Bay is par sheltered and around 3′, there’s also semi-clean 2 – 3′ surf around around at Chiton / Gap. The forecast predicts winds will tend more onshore SW at 15 – 20 knots, easing to 15 knots by late arvo. Part sheltered spots will be your best bet. Shred factor 6/10

Mid Coast

Stormy conditions continue on the Mid Coast this morning with onshore WSW winds around 20 knots. Surf is 2′ with a few bigger sets coming up to a marginal high tide at 0930. There’s only about half a meter of outgoing tide until late tonight, so it won’t play much of a part today. Winds are forecast to ease to 10 – 15 knots by late arvo / evening. It’ll be onshore and messy all day but semi-stormy options like Seaford Bowl should open up for a late one.   Shred factor 4/10

South Coast

Conditions are semi-clean on the South Coast early with West winds around 20 knots. Swell is still very westerly and that’s limiting size, with surf  around 1 – 2′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch,  and 1′ around at Chiton / Gap.  Waits and Parson’s will offer a bit more size, and Waits Point will be part sheltered. The forecast predicts winds will shift more onshore sou-westerly and gust to around 30 knots, so exposed stretches will be a write off. Swell will need to pick up a fair bit for any sheltered spots to work, but keep an eye on it later. Shred factor 6/10

Mid Coast

Winds are ’round to the WSW and gusting over 25 knots on the Mid Coast early. Conditions are messy with the onshores, and a stormy looks like building during the morning. Right now surf is around 2 – 3′ with some bigger lumps, but after a few hours of onshores it will probably be bigger. The forecast predicts 30 knot sou-westers after lunch, easing late arvo / evening. Part sheltered spots and Adelaide’s worst kept secret spot should be worth a look later.   Shred factor 4/10

Conditions are blown out on the South Coast early with offshore NNE winds around 30 knots. Surf is around 1 – 2′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, 1′ around at Chiton / Gap, and 1- 2′ at Waits and Parson’s. There’s a cold front on the way and conditions will remain blown out and small ahead of it. Once the change has hit winds will go around to the West and gust to 30 knots, easing again in the evening. Not really many options today.  Shred factor 4/10
