Winds have backed around to the SE on the Mid Coast early, and conditions are clean with 12 knot offshores. There are a few small lines of swell sneaking in with surf around 1′ on the reefs and a nominal high tide at 9am. Tides only move about 35cm all day today and won’t play a major role, but winds will probably shift more southerly after lunch at 20 knots and add bumps. The breeze will head back to the SE in the evening, but surf will remain small. Here’s a few pics from Waits on Saturday. Shred factor 2/10

Mid Coast
Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with very light NE winds, and a few lines of small swell. It’s a bit smaller today at around 1′ on the reefs, with the tide coming in until 9am. The dropping tide won’t change a lot, what will have a bigger effect is the wind as it swings West and picks up. A southerly change is on the way, probably due some time late arvo. Surf will become chopped up with the wind, and probably won’t get much bigger than a foot. SE winds may return by evening. Shred factor 4/10
Mid Coast
There’s very little wind on the Mid Coast early and conditions are clean, with the same small swell we’ve seen all week. Surf is around 1′ on the reefs with rare bigger sets, and the tide coming in until 0845. The outgoing tide will effect it after 10am, but beach breaks at South Port and Moana should improve early arvo heading toward low tide. Winds are forecast to remain light and variable all day so it should stay clean after lunch. The incoming tide may offer a small lift in wave heights on the reefs mid – late arvo. Shred factor 6/10
Mid Coast
Same swell again on the Mid Coast this morning only a bit cleaner this morning with light East winds. Surf is around 1′ on the reefs with a few bigger sets, definitely more waves than this time yesterday. High tide is at 0820 so it’ll hold up OK for the next few hours before the outgoing tide starts to effect it. The lower tide will favour the beachies early arvo, but a sea breeze will pop up around the same time and add some bumps. There should be small waves again in the evening with SE winds returning. Mid Coast
Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with light offshore East winds, and a few small lines of swell persisting. Surf is a bit smaller and less consistent this morning but there are 1′ waves on the reefs and some 2′ sets now and then. It’s a bit full coming up to high tide and some spots may improve briefly, before the outgoing tide flogs it. The beachies will come online around lunchtime as the tide bottoms out, but SEW-S winds at 15 knots will follow soon after. The arvo is looking mostly wind effected until the evening sou-easter resumes. Shred factor 5/10
Mid Coast
The same small swell of the last few days persists on the Mid Coast this morning, and conditions are clean with East winds around 7 knots. It’s pretty full coming up to high tide at 0730, but there are 1 – 2′ waves on the reefs. It’ll hold up OK for the next couple of hours, but the dropping tide will start to effect consistency mid morning. The beachies should have a few 1 – 2′ waves through low tide early arvo with light / variable winds, but a sea breeze looks like adding bumps after lunch. An evening sou-easter will hopefully clean it up a bit before it gets dark. Shred factor 7/10
Mid Coast
Winds are around to the South on the Mid Coast this morning and conditions are slightly bumpy, also full coming up to high tide. Surf is around 1′ on the reefs and it’s struggling to break at several spots, but may improve as the tide drops. The beach breaks should have a few more waves through low tide at lunch, and the reefs will probably lift a bit on the incoming tide after lunch. Sea breezes are forecast, so most of the arvo will be bumpy. A very late evening sou-easter is possible. Shred factor 3/10
Mid Coast
A couple of big wind gusts hit the Mid Coast just after 0530, and now there’s a hot NW wind around 17 knots. Surf is bumpy and barely 1′ on the reefs, also full again with the high tide. There’s a cool change on the way and winds are forecast to swing onshore Westerly at around 20 knots, then SW and Southerly by evening. We are really only getting clipped by the front, so a stormy is unlikely today. Bumpy 1- 2′ by late arvo is probably as good as it will get today. Shred factor 2/10
Mid Coast
There are still a few waves on the Mid Coast this morning, and conditions are clean early with ENE winds around 10 knots. Surf is around 1′ on the reefs with the odd 2′ set just heading through high tide. It’ll hold up OK for a couple of hours, but the dropping tide will punish it a bit mid morning. The beachies should pick up the slack through the low tide at lunch with some 1 – 2′ waves, and the incoming tide should see a few more waves on the reefs mid arvo. Winds look pretty good all day, remaining out of the E – NE and possibly going light and variable mid arvo. Small, clean waves all day. Shred factor 6/10
Mid Coast
The same little swell that’s been around all week is still with us, and conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with light ENE winds. Surf is around 1′ on the reefs with occasional bigger sets, and the tide just turning to head out. The dropping tide will kill it a bit, but the lower tide will bring more waves on the beach breaks at lunch time. There’ll probably still be small waves on the incoming tide after lunch, but Southerly winds at 10 – 15 knots may add some bumps. SE winds will clean it up again in the evening. Shred factor 6/10
