Mid Coast

The cool change rolled through overnight and winds are onshore from the West this morning, up around 25 knots. Conditions are messy on the Mid Coast with choppy 2′ surf and a small stormy starting to build. The forecast predicts W-SW winds in the 20 – 30 knot range for the rest of the day, so give it a few hours to whip up wind swell in the gulf. Part sheltered / stormy spots will be the go after lunch, but it probably won’t get big enough for metro jetties and beaches. Shred factor 4/10

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with light ENE winds, and a few small lines of swell still sneaking in. There are 1′ waves on the reefs with bigger sets now and then, coming up to high tide at 0830. It’ll hold up OK for the next few hours, but it’ll get a bit slow through high tide and the outgoing tide will kill it a bit mid morning. The beachies will have a few waves through the low tide early arvo, but it looks like Northerly winds may add a few bumps. The forecast predicts 10 – 15 knots which isn’t too bad, but the breeze will get probably stronger late arvo / evening.  Shred factor 6/10

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with light offshore East winds, and a few small lines of swell sneaking in. There are 1′ waves on the reefs with bigger sets now and then, coming up to high tide at 0810. It’ll hold up OK for the next few hours, but mid morning the dropping tide will kill the higher tide breaks. The beachies will have a few waves through the low tide early arvo, but a sea breeze will probably have kicked in by then. The arvo will be bumpy until evening, when the land breeze will kick in and clean it up. Shred factor 6/10

South winds around 7 knots are adding a few bumps on the Mid Coast early, and it’s also pretty full coming up to high tide just before 8am. Surf is very small, and all you’ll find on the reefs this morning are ankle slappers. It probably won’t get much better as the tide heads out, although the beachies might have some learner waves through low tide at lunch. The arvo will probably be small and bumpy with South winds around 15 knots, tending SE in the evening. Shred factor 2/10

Mid Coast

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with offshore East winds around 5 knots, and some swell leftover from yesterday. Coming up to high tide at 0720 surf is around 1′ on the reefs with long waits for the bigger ones. The dropping tide will start to kill it mid morning, but not long after N winds will begin to pick up. The beachies will probably be bumpy through low tide at lunch, and N-NW winds around 20 knots will keep it that way. A W-SW change will arrive sometime after lunch, and turn wins onshore. Mid Coast

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with offshore ESE winds around 12 knots, and finally some new swell. Coming up to high tide at 0650 surf is around 1 – 2′ on the reefs. It may even lift a bit around sunrise, but the dropping tide will adversely effect high tide spots mid morning. The other reefs ( Triggs, Seaford ) should improve a bit on the dropping tide, and low water will favour the beachies through the lunch hour. The incoming tide will probably provide a bit of a lift, but SE winds are forecast to shift more Southerly at 15 knots, adding bumps. The Southern end of South Port and Kiddie’s corner will be part sheltered. Winds should bo back to a sou-easter and  clean it up toward sunset. Swell will stick around all day by the looks.  Shred factor 7/10

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with light offshore ESE winds, but swell remains small. Coming up to high tide surf is maybe a foot when the sets hit the reefs, but smaller in between. The dropping tide won’t help much, although the beachies might have some learner waves through low tide at lunchtime. It’ll still be small early arvo, but as the tide starts to push we should see some new W-SW swell start to build. Unfortunately, so too will SSW winds, which are forecast to get up around 20 knots  by mid arvo. It’ll bumpy for most of it, with a shift back to SE winds probably too late to save it. Mid Coast

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with light offshore East winds, but swell remains small. Heading through high tide the reefs are picking up ankle slappers with rare bigger sets, but nothing really surfable. The dropping tide won’t help much, although the beachies might have some tiny peelers through low tide at lunchtime. The incoming tide won’t see much change in terms of size, but a sea breeze will kick in and add bumps for most of the arvo. A late sou-easter will clean it up a bit in the evening. Shred factor 1/10

Mid Coast

It’s a bit grey and overcast on the Mid Coast this morning, but conditions are clean with light SE wind. Surf remains tiny, and it’s barely shin high just coming off a fairly high morning tide. Nothing much will change as the tide drops, and even the beachies will struggle to break through low tide late morning. Like the last few days winds will pick up from the South, tending S-SW at 15 – 20 knots after lunch. It’ll be bumpy and near flat on the incoming tide.  Shred factor 1/10

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with East winds around 7 knts, but swell remains small this morning. Waves are only around shin-high on the reefs, with the tide heading out until 1150. The lower tide will only offer learner waves on the beachies, and like the last few days the sea breeze will kick on late morning and add bumps for the arvo. Sou-easters will return in the evening.  Shred factor 1/10
