Mid Coast

It’s raining on the Mid Coast early but winds are light offshore from the East, so seas are smooth. Unfortunately swell remains small, and surf is barely a foot on the reefs. There’s a low tide around 0845, then only about half a meter of incoming tide to the arvo peak at 1520. The breeze is forecast to shift NE and pick up to 20 knots, adding a few bumps. Surf will remain small to flat all day. Shred factor 2/10

It’s not so cold on the Mid Coast this morning with NE winds around 10 knots, and a few small lines of swell. Surf is around 1′ on the reefs, and the tide is coming in until 1040. The wind will begin to pick up not long after sunrise, and probably be up around 15 knots from the N-NE by mid morning. Surf will become bumpy soon and stay that way for much of the day, but a late shift to NE winds and slight lift in swell later may offer something surfable late arvo. Shred factor 2/10

NNE winds around 7 knots are adding a bit of a wobble on the Mid Coast early, but there are some small lines of swell. Surf is only around 1′ on the reefs, and the tide is coming in until just before 9am. The wind will begin to pick up not long after sunrise, and probably be up around 15 knots from the North by mid morning. Surf will be small and bumpy through the middle part of the day, but a shift to NE winds may offer limited options on the lower tide late arvo. Shred factor 4/10

Winds are just a puff from the South on the Mid Coast early and conditions are clean, but again chilly. There are a few 1′ waves on the reefs with the odd bigger set, and the tide is coming in until 0815. It should hold up ok for the next few hours, but there’s a chance of a light Southerly and the dropping tide effecting it mid – late morning. The good news is that winds are forecast to back around to the NE mid arvo, so the incoming tide should have some cleanish waves, possibly in the 1 – 2′ range.  Shred factor 5mid2

Mid Coast

The air is around 5°C on the Mid Coast this morning, and it’s icy with a light offshore East wind. Conditions are glassy coming up to high tide at 0740, with the same lazy swell and 1′ waves on the reefs as the last few days. The dropping tide will snuff out the small swell mid morning, but the beachies should have a few small peelers through the lunch hour.  The incoming tide may offer a bit of a lift in size but Southerly winds will be up and adding bumps. A late shift back to sou-easters  will clean it up toward sunset.   Shred factor 4/10

Winds are just a puff from the East and conditions are clean and glassy on the Mid Coast early this morning. Swell is similar to the last couple pf days with surf around 1′ on the reefs and rare bigger sets if you are prepared to sit and wait. The tide peaks around 0715 then heads out all until 1330, so it’ll be even less consistent mid morning. The beachies will have small peelers through the lunch hour, and the incoming tide may produce a small lift mid arvo. Winds will be offshore all day, tending light SE after lunch. Shred factor 5/10

Mid Coast

It’s another chilly morning with clear skies and very light East winds on the Mid Coast early. Conditions are glassy but surf is small and barely 1′ on the reefs coming up to high tide just before 7am. Winds will stay light all morning so seas will probably remain glassy at least up until lunchtime, but the beachies will most likely only offer knee-high peelers through low tide. A light Southerly wind may come up after lunch and take the gloss off before shifting back to a light sou-easter late arvo. The incoming tide won’t see surf much more than a foot high. Winds are light from the NE and it’s chilly on the Mid Coast early, but conditions are clean. Fading swell is producing waves around 1′ on the reefs, just coming up to high tide. The dropping tide will probably snuff it out mid morning, but the beachies may offer some small peelers through low tide at lunch. Water is pretty dirty at South Port with all the dam water still flowing out of the estuary. The forecast predicts winds will shift light Northerly to light Southerly after lunch, possibly SE by late arvo. Surf will remain small, and the big arvo tide will probably kill what’s left of the swell. Shred factor 5/10

NNE winds around 10 knots are adding a bit of a bump on the Mid Coast this morning, but there is some leftover swell on the reefs. Surf is around 1′ with occasional 2′ sets, just going through high tide. The dropping tide will kill it a bit mid morning, but the beachies may work a bit better through low tide. Keep an eye on it after lunch, the incoming tide may offer a bit of a lift and winds are forecast to go light and variable. Shred factor 5/10

Mid Coast

It’s cold, wet and windy on the Mid Coast this, with WNW winds around 22 knots and messy conditions. Swell is pretty solid from the WSW and under the bumps surf is around 3′ with some sets breaking a fair way out. The forecast predicts  winds will remain out of the West all day at similar strength, so it’s worth keeping an eye on spots you’d usually save for a stormy. The breeze will probably back off a bit toward evening, and swell should peak during the arvo. Shred factor 4/10
