South Coast

The swell remains large on the South Coast and it’s cleaned up overnight, with light NE winds early. The stretch from Middleton – Goolwa is maxing and the Bay is about the only option this morning, with sets in the 6′ range. It’s absolutely thumping in between Victor and Port Elliot, Chiton and the Gap have 6′ sets but now and then it’s bigger. The reef magnets further up are also working, so pack your gun and prepare to cop a pounding from 6 – 8’+ sets. Only paddle out it you are 100% confident. There will be sheltered spots also on the pump this morning, possibly even some novelty spots worth checking. The swell will remain very big all day, but quality will most likely deteriorate after lunch also onshore winds kick in. Enjoy a rare summer swell… it’s one of the best we’ve seen in December for many years.

There’s plenty of swell on the South Coast this morning, but onshore SSW winds at 10 knots have left it messy. The swell is swell lined up and surf is in the 4 – 5′ range at Middleton / Day St. – bigger down toward Cliffs and Goolwa. Chiton Rocks and The Gap are around 2 – 4′, and there are a few smaller bumpy waves at The Dump. The wind will remain onshore all day today, possibly swinging to a light sou-easter late arvo. Conditions will remain messy but the swell will be solid all day.

South Coast

Conditions are clean on the South Coast early with WNW winds at 10 -15 knots. Surf is around 1 – 2′ at Middleton but the Bay is not really breaking, so you’ll have to check the Point or along the Day St. Stretch. The Cliffs / Goolwa end is slightly more exposed to the wind and not quite as clean. Waits Point will be perfectly sheltered and might be worth a look early, but the wind will be straight into Parson’s . The BoM predicts stronger winds from the WSW soon, and that’ll make a mess of it everywhere. Sheltered spots won’t get big enough today, a grovel in the Bay might be the last resort after lunch. Winds should start to ease in the evening. Check the latest surf forecast to see how the rest of the week is looking

South Coast

Northerly winds around 7 knots have returned on the South Coast, but they will have a fair job straightening up the swell. It’s looking lumpy sith surf around 3 – 4′ at Middleton,. Slightly bigger down toward Goolwa. There are 2 – 3′ lumps around at Chiton and The Gap, Waits and Parson’s will be bigger but probably petty ugly. It might get a bit straighter mid-morning, but probably swing onshore SE around lunchtime. The arvo will be messy again, although the swell should hold up at least. Middleton Bay or possibly Chiton may hold out the longest, but by mid arvo it looks like everywhere will be a mess. Check the latest surf forecast to see how the rest of the week is looking.

South Coast

The swell has dropped and the onshores have settled in on the South Coast, and it’s not looking epic this morning. Winds are from the South at 17 knots and the sea is chopped up, with surf around 2′ at Middleton. It’s not much bigger along the stretch from Day St. – Goolwa, and certainly no cleaner. Waits and Parson’s will have another foot of swell and about the same amount of chop, so no relief there. The swell may light slightly after lunch but quality will remain dismal all day with So-SE winds possibly up to 25 knots at times. Desperadoes only. Check the latest surf forecast to see how the rest of the week is looking.

South Coast

Conditions are clean on the South Coast early with light WNW winds, but probably not for very much longer. The swell has backed off a bit but there are still 3′ waves at Middleton, and bigger sets down toward Cliffs and Goolwa. There are 2′ waves around at Chiton and The Gap, Waits and Parson’s will be bigger with the wind around that side from the SE and favouring Parson’s. There is a change on the way, and the breeze will pick up from the SE during the morning. It’ll tend more onshore Southerly late morning ar over 25 knots, and conditions will turn to much. That’ll pretty much be it for the rest of the day. Check the updated surf forecast to see how the rest of the weekend is looking.

There’s some good-sized swell on the South Coast this morning but SE winds yesterday have left it a bit wobbly. Surf is 4 – 5′ at Middleton, and there are occasional bigger sets breaking off Cliffs and down toward Goolwa. There are lumpy / glassy 2′ waves at The Dump and 4′ waves at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be sketchy this morning, although the wind will favour Parson’s. A few other sneaky spots around that side of Victor may be worth a squizz too. The wind should go Northerly soon and pick up 10 – 15 knots – which will help straighten up the swell. It won’t hurt to wait a while this morning but don’t leave it too long – a Southerly change will turn winds onshore possibly late morning or midday. Conditions will quickly deteriorate once the change hits. Check the updated surf forecast to see how it’s looking heading into the weekend.

Onshore South winds at 10 – 15 knots are adding chop on the South Coast early, and the swell is not looking awesome either. Surf is around 1 – 2′ at Middleton, and not a whole lot bigger down toward Cliffs and Goolwa. Chiton and The Gap have junky 1′ mush, Waits and Parson’s will be bigger but not any cleaner. The swell looks like it’ll build a bit during the day, but with Southerly winds over 20 knots it won’t be pretty. You might get a grovel in the Bay later if you’re very lucky.

South Coast

It’s looking alright on the South Coast early with light offshore North winds and swell lining up better than it has in a few days. Surf is around 2 – 3′ at Middleton, with a few bigger sets along the Day St. – Goolwa strtech. Chiton Rocks and The Gap are around 1 – 2′, Waits and Parson’s will be bigger and both clean this morning. WInds look good for the next few hours, although the prediction of onshore Souytherly winds after lunch might throw a spanner in the works. It’s a great looking morning, just be aware that we should still only be making essential travel under COVID restrictions and you might need a good reason to be 50km away from your place of residence. Take care.

Light onshore SSW winds are adding bumps on the South Coast this morning, but it’s probably as clean as it’ll get right now. Surf is around 1 – 2′ at Middleton and not a whole lot bogger along the stretch from Day St. – Goolwa. Chiton and The Gap are marginal, Waits and Parson’s will be bigger but no straighter. The wind will stay onshore all day and pick up to 17 knots late morning and chop it up for the arvo, but there is a chance of the breeze backing off again late arvo / evening. Swell size probably won’t change much today. Check the updated surf forecast to see how the next few days are looking.
