Mid Coast

Winds are onshore from the West at around 15 knots and conditions are bumpy on the Mid Coast again this morning. Surf is around 2′ but quality is pretty poor. Nothing much will change with the dropping tide, but the beachies will offer a grovel through low tide at midday. The forecast predicts WSW winds may be up around 20 to 30 knots during the morning, but the stormy might not be enough for really sheltered spots to fire. Wind and seas should settle down again mid – late arvo with sou-westers around 20 knots. Shred factor 3/10

Winds are onshore from the West at around 12 knots and conditions are bumpy on the Mid Coast this morning. There is some WSW swell underneath the bumps and a few 1 – 2′ waves, but quality is pretty poor. The dropping tide won’t help a lot, but the beachies will offer a grovel through low tide at midday. The forecast predicts winds around 20 knots before shifting NW and gusting 20 – 30 knots by late arvo. It’ll stay windy / messy all day.  Shred factor 3/10

NW winds are back to around 10 – 15 knots on the Mid Coast early, and conditions are bumpy. There’s still not much in the way of surf, with half a foot lumps on the reefs. Nothing much will change on the outgoing tide, but the beachies may serve up a grovel through low tide at lunch. The arvo should see winds swing more W-SW at around 20 knots, so the reefs may have a few messy waist high waves. Low expectations today.  Shred factor 1/10

NNE winds are up around 22 knots on the Mid Coast early, pushing whitecaps and bumps down the gulf. Apart from that conditions are dead flat with no swell and no waves. Not a whole lot will change in that regard with swell remaining tiny and Northerly winds gusting near 30 knots by mid morning. The breeze is forecast to shift NW-W and ease to around 15 knots by evening, but there’ll be nothing surfable all day.   Shred factor 1/10

Conditions are glassy on the Mid Coast early with very light NE winds, and it’s also pretty chilly early with clear skies. Surf is tiny on the outgoing tide and the reefs are only picking up occasional 1′ waves. The beachies will probably have small learner waves through low tide mod morning. Northerly winds are forecast to pickup to around 15 knots, so it’ll be bumpy and almost flat after lunch. Great day to hang on the coast but you’re not going surfing.  Shred factor 2mid2

It’s a chilly morning on the Mid Coast with clear skies and a light offshore ESE wind. Conditions are glassy with 1′ waves on the reefs, and occasional bigger sets. The tide is heading out toward a low at 1030, and that will favour the beachies mid morning. The incoming tide may provide a small pulse around lunch time or early arvo, but an onshore sea breeze may follow soon after. Winds should head back to the SE again in the evening and clean it up for a late Mally wave. Shred factor 6/10

Onshore WSW winds around 10 – 15 knots are making for bumpy conditions on the Mid Coast this morning, but there is some swell. Surf is around 2′ on the reefs,  and the tide is heading out to a minor low at 10am. There’s not much movement in the tide today and SW winds will keep it bumpy for the better part of the day. Probably the best chance for a paddle is late arvo / evening, when winds should drop and tend S-SE.   Shred factor 4/10

Stormy conditions continue on the Mid Coast this morning with onshore WSW winds around 20 knots. Surf is 2′ with a few bigger sets coming up to a marginal high tide at 0930. There’s only about half a meter of outgoing tide until late tonight, so it won’t play much of a part today. Winds are forecast to ease to 10 – 15 knots by late arvo / evening. It’ll be onshore and messy all day but semi-stormy options like Seaford Bowl should open up for a late one.   Shred factor 4/10

Winds are ’round to the WSW and gusting over 25 knots on the Mid Coast early. Conditions are messy with the onshores, and a stormy looks like building during the morning. Right now surf is around 2 – 3′ with some bigger lumps, but after a few hours of onshores it will probably be bigger. The forecast predicts 30 knot sou-westers after lunch, easing late arvo / evening. Part sheltered spots and Adelaide’s worst kept secret spot should be worth a look later.   Shred factor 4/10

The weather is on the turn on the Mid Coast early with a warm and NNE wind gusting up to 30 knots. The sea is flat and blown out, and nothing much will change in the regard for the next few hours. A westerly change is on themid1

mid2 way, ahead of it winds will tend North, then NW at up to 30 knots. Depending on the timing of the front we may get a  stormy building along the Mid with strong onshore Westerly winds. The earlier it hits, the bigger it’ll get – but most likely tomorrow will be bigger.  Shred factor 1/10
