Mid Coast

Winds are onshore from the West at around 10 – 15 knots on the Mid Coast early, and it’s not looking too flash. There are 1′ waves on the reefs with occasional bigger sets, but it’s very full heading through high tide and chopped up by the wind.  The dropping tide will kill it more mid morning, but the lower tide will favour the beach breaks between 11 and midday. The incoming tide will hopefully offer a bit of a lift, winds will remain out of the W-SW and maintain bumpy conditions for the arvo. Shred factor 2/10

Winds are just a puff from the ENE and conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early, with swell looking like it has most of the week. There are 1′ waves on the reefs but it’s very inconsistent, also a bit full coming off high tide at 0530. The dropping tide will probably kill it mid morning, but the lower tide will favour the beach breaks for a few waves between 11 and midday. The incoming tide will hopefully offer a bit of a lift, winds will be light all day but may tend light onshore adding a bit of a bump after lunch. Small waves all day.  Shred factor 5/10

Mid Coast

It’s chilly again on the Mid Coast with light ENE winds and glassy conditions early, but a drop in swell overnight. Surf is back to around 1′ on the reefs and it’s pretty full just coming off high tide. The dropping tide will kill it a bit mid morning as a few gigalitres of sea water drains from the Gulf, but the lower tide will favour the beachies late morning.   The forecast is for light / variable winds all day, tending light S-SW after lunch. There may be a few bumps from the wind but hopefully the incoming tide will bring a small lift in wave heights.  Shred factor 5/10

Mid Coast

Conditions are clean and glassy on the Mid Coast early with very light NE winds, it’s also pretty chilly with an air temp around 9°C. The tide has just peaked and there are a few 1′ waves on the reefs with occasional bigger sets, mainly confined to spots that like the higher tide. As the water drains from the gulf some spots will start to break better, but the high tide spots will start to become less consistent. The low tide will favour the beachies mid morning. The incoming tide will hopefully provide a bit of push heading into the arvo, although light Southerly winds may take the gloss off after lunch. SE winds will clean it up again in the evening. Mid Coast

It’s raining lightly and winds are back around to a light sou-easter on the Mid Coast early, and conditions are clean. There’s a little bit of swell sneaking in again with 1′ waves on the reefs, and the tide heading out until 1030am. The lower tide will favour the likes of Trigs and the beach breaks, but hopefully the incoming tide will provide a bit of a lift in wave heights. Winds are forecast to pick up from the S-SW, possibly around 10 – 15 knts – which will make it a bit bumpy. The breeze should ease off again mid arvo, and be back to the SE again in the evening. There should be a clean-ish wave on the reefs tonight, high tide’s at 4:45pm.  Shred factor 5/10

Northerly winds are up around 15 knots early and starting to add a few bumps along the Mid Coast. There’s only a bit of leftover swell buried under the lumps, with waves around shin high on the reefs. Low tide’s at 10:10 and then we have a slow incoming tide until 4:15pm, but not much will change before lunchtime. A W-SW cange is on the way but it’s not all that strong, and will really just clip the coast and turn winds onshore after lunch. There may be some bumpy waist high waves by late arvo with 15 – 20 knot SW winds… but no stormy.  Shred factor 2/10

Winds are light from the East and conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early, with some leftover swell still managing to find its way into the gulf. Surf is around 1 – 2′ on the reefs again but tides are really not helping today, with low tide ( 0.6m ) at 1040. The incoming tide should give it a bit of a push late morning, opening up a few more options early arvo as it fills in. Winds should be light all day and not much over 5 – 10 knots, although there’s always a chance of a sea breeze and some bumps mid arvo before the evening sou-easter cleans it up. Shred factor 6/10

Mid Coast

Winds are light from the ESE and conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early, with some SW swell still managing to find its way into the gulf. Surf is around 2′ on the reefs but tides are really not helping today, with low tide ( 0.9m ) at 0930. Hopefully the minor incoming tide will give it a bit of a push late morning, and preferably before the wind kicks in. SW-S afternoon sea breezes at 15 – 20 knots are forecast so it’ll be bumpy at exposed spots after lunch, although there’ll still be waves in the waist – chest high size range. The breeze should swing back to the SE and clean it up again in the evening.  Shred factor 7/10

Mid Coast

Winds are unexpectedly light from the SE on the Mid Coast early and conditions are glassy pre-dawn. There are a few 1′ waves on the reefs with occasional bigger sets, but some of the reefs are a bit shallow with a minor high tide at 0910. Tides don’t move a whole lot for the rest of the day, but it’s likely winds will come up from the S-SW this morning for a while and mess it up. The breeze should drop again after lunch and swing back to the South at around 10 knots, and then possibly SE by evening. There’ll be small waves all day, cleaner early and late. Shred factor 6/10

Mid Coast

Northerly winds are up on the Mid Coast early, blowing around 15 knots and starting to push bumps down the gulf. Beneath the Northerly lumps there is definitely groundswell, and peaky 1′ waves are breaking on the reefs. The tide peaks at 0820 then heads out until 1420, the beachies will probably pick up a bit more swell early arvo through the low tide. It’ll be bumpy though, with N-NW winds up to 20 knots ahead of a W-SW change this evening. There is a reasonable chance winds will ease just before the change arrives, so late arvo / evening may offer some peaky waves. Shred factor 2/10
