Mid Coast

There was about 7 drops of rain around 0530am on the Mid Coast, but now it’s just muggy and calm with no wind. The sea is glassy and it’s also dead flat, with zero evidence of any swell. The tide is running out yo a low at 1125, and being very low ti will expose a lot of the reefs after 10am.By then the wind looks like it will have picked up from the NNE, and it lay reach 20 knots before it eases off again. It doesn’t look like it’ll glass off again later, but you never know. In any case the North wind will take the shine off for a while, and it’ll stay dead flat today. East winds are blowing around 15 – 20 knots on the Mid Coast this morning, not that it matters – it’s as flat as it gets. There is almost no whitewater anywhere on the outgoing tide, and even though low tide at 10:45 it’ll be lucky if it breaks. The wind should lighten off after 10am so the sea will remain smooth for the better part of the morning. There’s no chance of any swell popping up on the incoming tide after lunch, and we might even get a sea breeze and a few bumps. More likely though, the wind will go to a fresh sou-easter again by late arvo evening. It’ll stay dead flat all day. Check the latest surf forecast to see how tomorrow looks.

Mid Coast

Conditions are clean and glassy on the Mid Coast this morning with very light East winds – but virtually no swell. There are tiny lines hitting the reefs on the outgoing tide, but only shin-slappers and not really surfable. low tide is just before 10am, and then there’s only about 80cm of incoming to the afternoon peak around 4pm. Conditions should remain clean for a few hours this morning, but a fresh southerly wind is expected to kick in by lunchtime. Anywhere exposed will be bumpy, but otherwise dead flat. Check the updated surf forecast for the weekend outlook.

Mid Coast

The wind is light from the ESE and conditions are glassy on the Mid Coast early, but it’s virtually flat. There are tiny lines at South Port but only enough for learners really, with shin-slappers on the reefs. Tides are wonky too, low is at 0830 so a few spots will be too shallow to surf. The incoming tide is not a biggie either, with only about 70cm of movement. To top it off, fresh Southerly winds look like getting stuck into it from mir morning onward, and settling in for the day. Expect anywhere open to be bumpy and flat. Fresh surf forecast will be up this evening.

Mid Coast

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast this morning with light East winds, and a few small lines of swell persisting. Surf is around 1′ on the reefs with rare bigger sets, and a slightly weird tide. The peak this morning is at 1020 and it’s only 1.7m, then the tide runs out until 6pm. Most spots will have small, clean waves for most of the morning, and the not overly large drop in tide shouldn’t kill it. What probably will kill it is SOutherly winds at 10 – 15 knots, which will settle in after lunch. Anywhere exposed will be bumpy for the arvo and some of the reefs will be a bit shallow by 4 – 5pm. The wind may go SE again in the evening.

Mid Coast

The wind has eased overnight and it’s back to 7 knots from the South on the Mid Coast early. There’s still plenty of leftover lumps in the swell, but there are 1 – 2′ waves on a few of the reefs. The tide is coming in to a peak at 9am, then it heads out until 4pm. The wind will probably pick up again not long after sunrise, and by early afternoon SW-S winds at 17 knots will chop it up a fair bit. Tides are not great either, although Trigs and the beach breaks will offer a grovel closer to low tide mid arvo. Ealy is probably as clean as it’ll get today. Mid Coast

The stormy weather continues this morning with WSW winds at 20 – 15 knots on the Mid Coast. Surf is messy and around 2 – 3′, and the water level is up with the storm surge. The wind looks like it might get back to 30 knots through the middle of the day, so there’s a good chance stormy spots will be working again. The wind is not quite SW enough for Adelaide’s worst kept secret spot, but it might be better later today. There’s a chance the wind will drop back to 20 knots by evening, but it’ll stay wet and windy all day today. Check the latest surf forecast to see how the next few days are looking.

Mid Coast

It’s stormy on the Mid Coast this morning with Westerly winds around 20 knots early. Surf is around 2 – 3′ but it’s really broken up, and the big tide and storm surge are not helping. The BoM predicted the wind would be lighter in the morning, but also strong winds and rain again after lunch. The underlying swell should be more defined later and a few stormy spots might get a look in. It’s not looking like enough for anywhere metro to work, but your typical stormy venues should offer something after lunch. Check the latest surf forecast to see how the next few days are looking.

Mid Coast

Northerly winds have been up around 20 knots overnight, but they’ve dropped back to 10 knots from the NE on the Mid Coast early. The wind has left a slight wobble in the tiny swell, but it’s semi-clean – and waves are barely six inches. There’s a change on the way and the wind will start to pick up from the NW soon, possibly to 25 knots before shifting onshore from the west. Gusts after lunch could be over 30 knots, and that wind will whip up some stormy swell. It’s hard to say just how big it’ll get today ( bigger tomorrow ) but there will probably be messy surf along most of the Mid Coast by mid – late arvo. It won’t be pretty. Check the latest surf forecast to see how tomorrow is shaping up.

December 3, 2020

The wind is light from the East on the Mid Coast early and conditions are clean again. The swell has eased, but there are still some 1′ waves and rare bigger sets hitting high tide reefs. The outgoing tide will probably affect consistency after 8:30am but low tide at lunch will favour Trigs and the beach breaks. The forecast suggests light East winds tending SE after lunch, so hopefully it’ll be clean for the better part of the day. It will be smaller and less consistent on the incoming tide, but there should still be a few peelers coming up to high tide. The weekend looks stormy, check the latest surf forecast for more info.
