December 3, 2020

The wind is light from the East on the Mid Coast early and conditions are clean again. The swell has eased, but there are still some 1′ waves and rare bigger sets hitting high tide reefs. The outgoing tide will probably affect consistency after 8:30am but low tide at lunch will favour Trigs and the beach breaks. The forecast suggests light East winds tending SE after lunch, so hopefully it’ll be clean for the better part of the day. It will be smaller and less consistent on the incoming tide, but there should still be a few peelers coming up to high tide. The weekend looks stormy, check the latest surf forecast for more info.

South Coast

There’s almost no wind on the South Coast this morning and conditions are clean and glassy early – but probably won’t be for long. The swell is straight but it it’s small, and surf is only 1′ between between Middleton and Goolwa. Waits or Parson’s are probably your only hope for a shortboard wave this morning, maybe with a few 2′ sets. The forecast predicts the breeze will swing onshore and pick up during the morning, and once it settles in conditions will become choppy. Swell direction will mean waves remain on the small side for today. Shred factor 5/10.

Winds are very light from the North and conditions are clean as a whistle South Coast this morning. but pretty small. Middleton has waves around 1 – 2′, and it’s about the same between Day St. and Goolwa. Waitpinga or Parson’s are worth a look for a bit more size and power at around 2′, maybe a tad bigger on the sets with a bit of a wait for them. It will stay clean ll day today with offshore Northerly winds unlikely to get much over 5 – 10 knots. Shred factor 8/10

The wind is light from the WNW and it’s clean on the South Coast this morning, but it doesn’t look like it’ll last long. Surf is only around 1 – 2′ between Middleton and Goolwa, so Waits and Parson’s are about your only options for a shortboard wave this morning. You’ll need to be quick – the forecast predicts fresh SE winds will kick in anytime from now on, and any surf options will turn to slops not long after. The sou-easters will settle in for the rest of the day, and it’ll pretty much be a write off.  Shred factor 5/10

Conditions are clean on the South Coast this morning with light NE winds, but swell is small and a bit too WSW in direction. Surf is only around 1′ between Middleton and Goolwa and looking pretty  weak and a bit wobbly. Waits and Parson’s will be slightly bigger and are your only hope for anything shortboardable. Winds will be light this morning, but the forecast predicts a shift back to onshore sou-easters around lunchtime. The arvo looks small and bumpy. Shred factor 3/10

Winds are more Easterly on the South Coast this morning, but the surf still looks dreadful. Swell’s up a tad and has more South in it, and surf is sloppy 3 – 4′ between Middleton and Goolwa. Chiton / Gap are aroind 2′, Parson’s will be bigger and offering partial shelter in beside the point. There may be a couple of other options around that side worth checking while the wind is more East than South. The breeze will tend more onshore than cross-shore after lunch by the looks, with sou-easters around 20 knots. Quality will remain poor all day. Shred actor 3/10

The wind is trying its best to go offshore NE on the South Coast this morning, but 2 days of sou-esters have left it a mess. Surf is a mushy looking 3 – 4′ between Middleton and Goolwa, and peaky 2′ around at Chiton / Gap. Parson’s will be bigger and offer partial shelter in beside the point. The forecast predicts the breeze will revert to a sou-easter at 20 knots after lunch, so the slops are not going away any time soon. If you’re desperate try a grovel in the Bay, or maybe a few peaky ones at Chiton this morning. Shred factor 3/10

South Coast

Conditions are clean on the South Coast this morning with offshore NNE winds around 10 knots. Swell remains small and WSW with surf only around 1′ between Middleton and Goolwa. Waits and Parson’s will be *slightly* bigger, and your only hope for anything shortboardable this morning. In any case things are looking sketchy with gusty N-NW winds on the way, and the entire coast becoming blown out by mid morning. A SW change is expected to roll through after lunch, but there probably won’t be much change in terms of swell for the better part of the day. Early Saturday may be a better bet with offshore NW winds returning.   Shred factor 3/10

South Coast

Conditions are bumpy on the South Coast this morning with onshore SSW winds around 15 knots. Swell is slightly bigger with surf around 2′ between Middleton and Goolwa. Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger, but probably not much fun while the wind remains onshore. The good news is that situation looks like it’ll change, as winds ease and become light / variable, then offshore NE-N by late arvo. Swell probably won’t lift much ( if at all ), but it should clean up quite a bit during the afternoon. Might be worth a late paddle, so keep an eye on it.  Shred factor 4/10

The breeze has swung back offshore around 7 knots on the South Coast this morning, but there’s a bit of East in the breeze. Swell is bigger and it’s trying to clean up, but there’s still a wobble in it with surf around 3′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch. Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger, and Parson’s will probably have the edge over Waits with the slight bit of East in the wind. The forecast is for E-NE winds at 15 – 20 knots all day, possibly N-NW by evening. Swell will probably fade a bit after lunch.  Shred factor 6/10
