South Coast

Looking good on the South Coast again this morning with light NNW winds and well lined up swell. Surf is around 4′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and glassy 2′ around at Chiton / Gap with some bigger ones. The forecast is predicting NW winds possibly up to 15 – 20 knots later, so open stretches may become a bit blown out through the middle part of the day. Swell looks like it might build a bit after lunch, and winds may drop out for another late session inside Middleton Bay. Shred factor 8/10

Winds are back to a light Westerly on the South Coast this morning, maybe even tending a bit WNW. Conditions are clean and glassy and swell is up  a bit, with surf around 4 – 5′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch. It’s glassy around at Chiton / Gap and waves are around 2′ with some bigger ones. Winds look OK for the rest of the day, tending W-NW at 10 – 15 knots, then shifting more offshore Northerly later in the day. The weekend looks like more of the same.  Shred factor 7/10

Strong offshores are blowing out the South Coast this morning with gusts from the North over 25 knots. Surf is around 2 – 3′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch but getting hammered by the wind, Chiton / Gap is partially shaded at around 1 – 2′.  A gusty W-SW wind change is on the way and may arrive mid morning. Behind the change swell will probably build a bit and sheltered spots may be worth a look. The breeze will gust near 30 knots then should start to back off mid – late arvo.  Shred factor 4/10

Winds are light offshore on the South Coast early and conditions are clean and glassy. Surf is around 3 – 4′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and 2′ around at Chiton / Gap with occasional bigger sets. You’ll have to be quick this morning as fresh NW winds are forecast, and it’ll probably become blown out soon with gusts getting up around 30 knots. That’ll set the tone for the rest of the day with exposed stretches getting hammered by strong offshores, and sheltered spots not really breaking. Shred factor 7/10

South Coast

Winds are offshore on the South Coast early, and a clean, solid swell is running. Surf is a good 5′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, the stretch between The Dump and Knights is clean and breaking in the 3 – 5′ range. The next few hours will probably be the best of it with NW winds forecast to gust over 20 knots during the day and blow it out. Swell will remain solid all day so part-sheltered spots might be an option later once exposed stretches have succumbed to the wind. Shred factor 8/10

Winds have swung onshore on the South Coast overnight, and conditons are bumpy early. Surf is around 3 – 4′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and 2′ around at Chiton / Gap. The next few hours will be bumpy with SW winds possibly up around 10 -15knots, but the good news is that swell is on the rise and winds are forecast to swing back to the NW after lunch. Keep an eye on Middleton Bay or the Port Elliot  stretch later.  Shred factor 5/10

South Coast

It’s clean and offshore on the South Coast this morning  with 7 knot NNE winds and well lined up swell. Swell has eased with surf around 2 – 3′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and 1 – 2′ around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s are worth a look this morning and should be in the 3 – 4′ range early. N-NW winds are forecast to pick up to around 15 knots this morning, probably not strong enough to blow it out but certainly it’ll take the gloss off. There’s a weak W-SW change expected to arrive mid arvo, so it’ll turn onshore and bumpy once that arrives. Winds may drop out around lunch before the change arrives. Shred factor 7/10

South Coast

We’re back to offshores and clean conditions the South Coast this morning with 5- 7 knot NE winds. Swell is still fairly solid wit surf 4’+ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and swell still getting in along the Victor to Port Elliot stretch. Chiton / Gap is around 3′ and there’s a few waves at The Dump. Unfortunately it looks like N-NW winds will pick up during the morning, possibly gusting around 20 knots by lunchtime. If the wind gets that strong it’ll become blown out along exposed stretches, so braving the cold and hitting it early is probably your best bet.  Shred factor 7/10

Gale force WSW winds continue to thump the South Coast this morning  gusts around 40 knots in the small hours. Swell has built some more overnight to around is 5 – 6′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, but it’s a mess. The Victor to Port Elliot stretch is also copping it from the wind with waves ranging from 2 – 4′ at the Dump to 5′ up the Boomer end. Sheltered spots will definitely be worth a look this morning. Conditions will begin to moderate from about now on, and winds will tend more SW and ease to around 20 knots by mid arvo. Middleton Bay or The Dump way be alright for a late one with lighter winds.
