Mid Coast

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early  with  ESE winds around 12 knots, and mall lines of swell similar to much of the last week. Surf is around 1′ on the reefs coming off high tide at 5am, and the sets will become rarer as the tide starts heading out mid morning. The lower water will favour the beachies around lunchtime, if you don’t mind racking up a few small closeouts. There will probably still be some 1′ waves on the incoming tide after lunch, but Southerly winds will add a few bumps. A late sou-easter will clean it up again in the evening. Shred factor 4/10

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with light East winds, and a few small liens of swell still sneaking in. Surf is around 1′ on the reefs with rare bigger sets, soon so be erased by the dropping tide. The lower water will favour the beachies around lunchtime, but with the State Surf Lifesaving titles on at South Port you won’t be surfing there. The arvo will see small waves on the incoming tide but sea breezes will add some bumps mid arvo, before a late sou-easter cleans it up. There should be a few mally waves in the evening. Yesterday’s stormy conditions have cleared overnight and winds are back to a light sou-easter, so conditions are nice and clean on the Mid Coast early.  Surf  is around 1′ on the reefs with a few bigger sets, tides unfortunately are not good and a few spots are too shallow with low tide at 1145. There’s a slow incoming tide aftre lunch that only moves about 60cm, but hopefully the swell will lift a bit mid arvo. Winds will be light this morning, but tend Southerly and pick up a bit after lunch, adding bumps. An evening sou-easter should clean it up again.  Shred factor 6/10

A cool change rolled through overnight and winds are ’round to the SW on the Mid Coast this morning. Gusts are up around 30 knots and a small stormy is starting to build, but at the moment conditions are choppy at around 2′. It’ll get bigger during the morning and hopefully a few sheltered spots will be worth a sniff around morning smoko time – lunch. The breeze will slowly tend more Southerly during the arvo, and ease to around 15 -20 knots by evening. Give it some time to build and check your favourite stormy venues. Shred factor 4/10

NE winds are around 5 – 7 knots on the Mid Coast early and conditions are clean… but pretty well flat. Coming up to a minor high tide at 8:15 there are only ankle slappers on the reefs, and that’s  not gonna change a whole lot as the tide heads out later this morning. Light winds will keep it clean for the first half of the day, but winds will swing onshore Westerly after lunch and pick up to around 20 knots by late arvo. Swell should lift a bit on the incoming tide but it’ll be   a bit messy with the onshores, maybe a waist high if grovel this evening.   Shred factor 1/10

Finally a bit of a break from the witches wind this morning with very light Easterlies, and glassy conditions on the Mid Coast. The same pretend swell we’ve had for about a week is running, and surf is around shin high on the reefs with rare 1′ sets.  The tide peaks at 8am then drains out until early arvo, with the lower tide bringing small peelers and closeouts to the beachies. Sea breezes will add bumps after lunch, late sou-easters will clean it up in the again evening. The full tide will probably kill what little swell there is  by then.  Shred factor 2/10

ESE winds are gusting over 20 knots on the Mid Coast this morning, and conditions are clean but  a bit blown out.  Yet again surf is around 1′ on the reefs with a wait for the sets, and the tide peaking around 0750. Mid morning the wind will back off  a bit, and the dropping tide may reveal a few more waves on selected reefs but not really much more size. The low tide early – mid arvo will favour the beachies ( for closeouts ) and the incoming tide will bring small Mally waves to the  reefs in the evening. It’ll get pretty full and slow after 1830.  Shred factor 3/10

SE winds are around 17 knots on the Mid Coast early and conditions are clean, it slightly windblown. The same teaser swell we’ve had all week is still producing 1′ waves on the reefs, with  a bit of a wait for the sets. High tide is just before 8am and already it’s a bit full, some spots will improve mid morning as the tide begins to head out. The lower tide will bring more waves to the beach breaks early arvo and expose many of the reefs, but hopefully the incoming tide will see a bit of a pulse in the swell. Winds will tend more Southerly at up to 20 knots after lunch, adding a few bumps before a late sou-easter cleans it up in the evening.  Shred factor 4/10

08:45: Definitely some improvement with the dropping tide, there are a few waist high sets hitting the reefs and it’s nice and clean – you just have to wait for them. High tide spots are holding up OK but the lower water will expose some spots in the next 1 – 2 hours. Incoming tide will be worth a look.
05:50: Offshore East winds are around 12 knots on the Mid Coast early, and conditions are clean- but swell remains tiny. Surf is around shin-high on the reefs with the tide still coming in, high tide is at 0720. The dropping tide may help some spots pick up a few small waves but kill others mid morning, with the lower tide favouring the beachies just after lunch.  Swell looks like it may lift a bit on the incoming tide after lunch, winds are forecast to tend more Southerly at 15 – 20 knots but hopefully they’ll stay SE and keep it clean.   Shred factor 6/10

ESE winds are around 12 knots on the Mid Coast early and conditions are clean, but there’s no waves. Swell is already pretty small but also too SW to get into the gulf, and it’s dead flat coming through high tide. Nothing much will change as the tide heads out, and even the beachies will struggle to break through low tide at lunch. The arvo will see winds tend more Southerly and pick up 10 – 15 knots, adding bumps. Surf will remain flat all day.  Shred factor 0/10
