South Coast

Looking good on the South Coast this morning with light offshore NW winds, and well lined up swell slightly up on yesterday.  There are clean 2′ waves along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger and worth a look if you’re chasing a bit more juice. Winds look good this morning, but onshore SE-S winds are forecast to blow in after lunch and chop it up. Make the most of it, onshores are forecast for the next few days. Shred factor 8/10

There’s a light offshore Nor-wester on the South Coast again this morning and conditions are glassy early. Swell is a bit funky, small and coming from about three directions, but it is surfable. The Middleton – Goolwa stretch has surf around 1-2′ but it’s a bit reformy and slow, so bring plenty of foam. Waitpinga or Parson’s will be worth a look for shortboarders at around 2′, with occasional bigger sets.  The forecast predicts onshore SE winds for the arvo, but there should be a  bit of a window for the next few hours of clean conditions. South Coast

Winds have gone ’round to a light offshore Nor-wester on the South Coast overnight, but don’t get too excited. A weekend of E-SE winds have left plenty of lumps, and the swell has faded and left wobbly 1 – 2′ waves along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch. Chiton / Gap are peaky but only about a foot high, with Waits or Parson’s a better option this morning. The forecast predicts onshore SE winds for the arvo, but they could start to arrive any time. Conditions will go back to the usual summer mush once the Nor-westers have fled, and it’ll be small for the rest of the day. Shred factor 5/10

Winds are almost offshore on South Coast this morning, tending light E-NE at around 7 knots. Surf is a bit wobbly but glassy early, around 3 – 4′ between Middleton and Goolwa with occasional bigger sets. Chiton / Gap are around 2′ and glassy, Waits and Parson’s will be a decent size and winds should be good for Parson’s. After lunch the breeze will swing back to the SE-S and onshore, so it’ll gradually turn from lumps to mush. Shred factor 6/10

Easterly winds at 12 knots are creating typical summer lumpy conditions on the South Coast this morning. Swell is up a bit, with 3′ surf along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch and peaky 2′ waves around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be bigger, with wind favouring Parson’s and perhaps a few other sneaky spots around that side of Victor. The breeze is forecast to gradually tend more onshore SE-S at 15 – 20 knots, so the lumps will probably have turned to mush by early arvo. Shred factor 5/10

Conditions are bumpy on South Coast this morning with 15 knot onshore South winds. Surf is around 2′ at Middleton, with  a few bigger sets down through Day St. to Goolwa. Chiton / Gap are around 1 – 2′, Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger but not offering any shelter from the wind. It’ll stay onshore and messy all day today, with the breeze picking up to 20 knots after lunch, and tending more SSE by late arvo. Shred factor 3/10

South Coast

Winds are cross-shore from the West at 15 knots on the South Coast this morning, and conditions are semi-clean early. Swell has a lot of West in it so it’s mostly rolling past, with 2′ surf along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch. It’s slightly bigger around at Waits and Parson’s, with wind favouring the Point end of Waits. Swell will probably build a bit during the day, but as winds shift more onshore SW-S conditions will become messy. Middleton Point or Day St. are OK early for loggers. Shred factor 6/10

Winds are offshore on South Coast this morning, and conditions are clean with Northerlies around 10 – 15 knots. Swell has continued to wind back, with surf around 1′ at Middleton, with  a few bigger down through Day St. to Goolwa. Waits and Parson’s are your best bet for a shortboard wave today at around 1 – 2′ and clean. It will probably get blown out by strong NW winds soon anyway, with gusts possibly over 30 knots. A W-SW change will turn winds cross-onshore at some stage after lunch, bringing choppy surf. The forecast predicts this won’t happen until late arvo / evening. Shred factor 6/10

Finally winds are light offshore on South Coast this morning, and conditions are glassy with just a bit of leftover wobble in the swell. Surf is around 3′ at Middleton, with  a few bigger sets from Cliffs down toward Goolwa. There are glassy 2′ waves around at Chiton / Gap, and bigger waves around at Waitpinga and Parson’s which could be good this morning. The forecast predicts NE-N winds in the 15 knot range all day so it won’t get blown out, and the swell will straighten up some more during the morning. The weather’s great too, so make the most of it. Shred factor 7/10

Winds are onshore from the South at 17 knots on South Coast this morning, and conditions are messy. Underlying swell is fairly straight and well formed, but surf is mushy at 4 – 5′ from Middleton to Goolwa. There are sloppy 2 – 4′ waves between The Dump and Boomer, but you can safely rule out Waits or Parson’s today. The forecast predicts winds will ease and tend SE-E after lunch,  still not ideal but is may open up a few options the other side of Victor late arvo.  Shred factor 3/10
