South Coast

Winds are on the turn on South Coast this morning, tending Westerly at around 10 – 15 knots after Northerlies all night. Swell has picked up a little and it’s still clean,  with waves around 1 – 2′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch. Waitpinga or Parson’s is still a better bet for a shortboard wave at around 2 – 3′.  Swell may build a bit during the day, but it’s going to get pretty blown out by the looks with 30 knot WNW winds forecast. Sheltered spots won’t be big enough, and exposed spots will be getting hammered. Waits Point may hold out for a little while. Shred factor 6/10

It’s looking good on South Coast this morning with light offshore NNE winds and glassy conditions. Swell is in the small size range, with surf an inconsistent 1′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and Waits or Parson’s a better bet for a shortboard wave. Winds are forecast to remain light offshore all day and probably won’t get much over 10 knots from the N-NE. Swell will remain marginal around the Middleton side all day. Shred factor 6/10

South Coast

It’s looking good on South Coast this morning with light offshore NNE winds and clean conditions. Swell has continued to wind down, with surf around 2 – 3′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and 3′ around at Waits & Parson’s. Winds are forecast to remain light offshore all day and probably won’t get much over 10 knots from the N-NE. Swell will continue its downward trend as we head into the weekend, so it’s worth braving the chilly air and water to grab a few waves this morning. Shred factor 7/10

Onshores have subsided on the South Coast and winds are tending light Easterly this morning. Swell still ha s a bit of  a lump in it with surf around 4′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch and peaky / glassy 2′ waves around at Chiton / Gap.  The forecast predicts winds will be a bit Easterly all day and maintain a bit of a lump, but a Nor-easter will probably kick in after lunch and straighten it up a bit. Waiting until later today might be a good plan. Shred factor 6/10

It’s still onshore on the South Coast this morning, with Southerlies around 15 – 20 knot and messy conditions. Surf is around 4 – 5′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch and there’s messy 2 – 4′ waves between The Dump and Chiton / Gap.  The forecast predicts winds will tend more SE at around 15 knots after lunch, but in any case it’s not gonna clean up for at least another day or so. Onshore Southerly winds are making a mess on the South Coast this morning, with gusts over 20 knots. Swell is pretty big with sloppy 6′ surf along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch and messy 3 – 5′ waves between The Dump and Chiton / Gap. The rest of the day will be sloppy and onshore, although wind and seas should begin to ease by late arvo. Shred factor 3/10

Winds are on the turn on the South Coast this morning, but right now conditions are clean with light offshore NW winds. Swell is a bit westerly with surf along the Middleton – Goolwa around 2 – 3′, Chiton / Gap are 1 – 2′ with Waits and Parson’s picking up a bit more swell and wind favouring Waits up the point end. Fresh sou-westers are not far away and it may even be onshore and messy by morning smoko. The rest of the day will be sloppy as winds tend more Southerly at up to 30 knots, before easing toward evening. Shred factor 7/10

Once again it’s looking good on the South Coast this morning with 5 knot offshore North winds and clean conditions. Surf along the Middleton – Goolwa is around 2 – 3′, Chiton / Gap are 1 – 2′ with Waits and Parson’s the best option for more experienced surfers at around 3 – 4′. Winds will be offshore all day and probably OK this morning, but the forecast predicts stronger NW winds after lunch. It may get a bit blown out later so grab the best of it this morning.
