South Coast

Winds are offshore on the South Coast at around 15 knots from the NW, and conditions are clean and swell is fairly well lined up. Surf is around 2′ along the Middleton to Goolwa stretch with occasional bigger sets, Waits and Parsons should be a bit bigger. It’s hard to say how long the window will be open this morning, offshores may blow it out soon and  W-SW change is moving in. Probably by lunch time winds will swing to the W-SW at 20 knots, and more onshore SW-S by mid arvo. Conditions will deteriorate as the onshore pick up. Shred factor 7/10

Winds are light from the E-NE on the South Coast early, and conditions are a bit lumpy but a bit bigger this morning. Surf is around 3 – 4′ along the Middleton to Goolwa stretch, and there are some shoulder high waves in the Bay at Middleton. It’s 2′ with a few bigger sets around the Chiton / Gap side, and peaky / glassy early. Waits and Parsons will be pretty solid, winds will favour Parson’s in beside the point.  There are other spots out that side of Victor that may be worth a bit of a squiz today, if you know where to look. The Bureau o Met predicts winds won’t get much over 10 knots all day, and tend more NE after lunch – possibly glassing off at some stage. Swell should stick around all day.  Shred factor 7/10

Winds are light from the NE on the South Coast early, and conditions are lumpy wit a slight Easterly wobble in the swell. Surf is around 2 – 3′ from  Middleton to Goolwa and not looking too bad, with a bit more size around at Waits and Parsons. The next few hours will be the best of it, with onshore South winds at 10 – 15 knots kicking in after lunch and adding bumps. Worth a drive as long as you get going pretty soon. Shred factor 7/10

Conditions are slightly improved on the South Coast this morning with winds almost swinging offshore NE. Surf is still pretty lumpy ( and glassy early ) with waves around 2′ along the  Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and slightly bigger around at Parson’s. The next few hours might be OK around that side with partial shelter in beside Parson’s Point, but as winds shift more onshore SE it’ll become lumpy again after lunch. SE winds 10 – 15 knots are forecast, light winds tomorrow as well.  Shred factor 6/10
