Onshores are making a dog’s dinner of the surf on the South Coast this morning, with SSW winds around 20 knots. Surf is sloppy and around 3′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, with 2′ slops at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be bigger, but quality will be no less woeful. The wind should start to back off a bit by late morning, and may be back around 10 – 15 knots by early arvo. It’ll stay onshore and messy all day, but if swell kicks a bit you may get a grovel in the Bay at Middleton later.  Shred factor 3/10

Conditions are clean and glassy on South Coast early with light offshore NNE winds and perfectly lined up swell. It’s smaller with surf around 2′ along the Middleton – Day St. stretch with occasional bigger sets down toward Cliffs and Goolwa. Waits and Parson’s will be a better bet for shortboarders with the odd 3′ set. The swell will continue to ease this morning but it should stay glassy up until early arvo, when a SW-S wind change will arrive. Once the onshores appear it’ll quickly deteriorate, and turn to much for the rest of the day. Get on it ASAP.  Shred factor 8/10

Surf is around 4′ along the  Middleton – Goolwa  stretch, and the Bay is offering partial sheltered and shest high waves. There are 2 – 3′ waves around at Chiton / Gap, but The more sheltered Dump is  a bit marginal. Waits and Parson’s will be bigger and Waits Point will offer some shelter.
