South Coast

Winds are light from the ESE at around 7 – 10 knots on South Coast this morning, and conditions are small and lumpy. Again the swell is very WSW so it’s rolling tright past, and surf is barely 1′ from Middleton to Goolwa. Waits and Parson’s won’t be a whole lot bigger, although winds wil favour Parson’s over Waits. Onshore SW-SE winds are forecast to possibly get up to 15 knots after lunch so conditions will go from lumpy to bumpy. Shred factor 1/10

Winds are light onshore at around 7 – 10 knots on South Coast this morning, and conditions are bumpy. Swell is very WSW so it’s also pretty small, and there’s hardly anything breaking from Middleton to Goolwa. Even Waitpinga and Parson’s will be tiny today, maybe a foot or so. Onshore SW-SE winds are forecast to possibly get up to 15 knots after lunch so conditions will remain bumpy all day. Swell will pick up slightly after lunch.

Winds are back to onshore on South Coast this morning, and conditions are bumpy with SSW winds around 12 knots. The Middleton – Goolwa stretch is still only around 1′, and it’s brown and wobbly. Waits and Parson’s should be slightly bigger but quality won’t be epic around that side either. Onshore SW-SE winds are forecast to possibly get up to 15 knots before easing mid – late arvo. Most of the day will be bumpy, and with a very WSW swell it’ll remain small. Shred factor 2/10

Winds are just a puff from the North on South Coast this morning, and conditions are clean and glassy early. The Middleton – Goolwa is still brown but clean and glassy early, with 1′ longboard waves. Waits and Parson’s should be slightly bigger with waves around 1 – 2′. North winds will probably pick up a bit mid morning, but hopefully not enough to blow it out. A SW-S change will arrive sometime after lunch, and once it goes onshore conditions will deteriorate pretty quickly. Shred factor 6/10

Winds have finally swung to a light offshore Northerly on South Coast this morning, but days of sou-easters have left it pretty lumpy. The Middleton – Goolwa is still brown and frothy, with surf around 1 – 2′. Waits and Parson’s should be slightly bigger and less brown, with waves around 2′. Winds are forecast to tend offshore all day in the 10 knot range, possibly stronger mid – late arvo. Hopefully the swell will straighten up with the Northerlies, and looking a bit better after lunch. Once again it’s not looking too flash on South Coast with onshore SSW winds around 10 – 15 knots and sloppy surf. The  Middleton – Goolwa looks awful with brown goop everywhere, and surf around 2′. Waits and Parson’s should be slightly bigger and you won’t find the brown muck around that side – but it’ll still be messy. Onshores will stick around all day at up to 20 knots, so it won’t be any better after lunch. Desperados only. Shred factor 3/10

Winds have eased to around 10 knots from the SSE on South Coast early, but again it’s a mess. The Middleton – Goolwa stretch is sloppy with surf around 2 – 3′, Waits and Parson’s should be slightly bigger but probably no cleaner. The breeze will shift more onshore Southerly at up to 20 knots after lunch, so the rest of the day will be more of the same. Shred factor 2/10

Winds have swung Easterly at around 10 knots on South Coast early, but it’s a mess. The Middleton – Goolwa stretch is sloppy with surf around 2 – 3′, and Waits and Parson’s should be slightly bigger and Parson’s at least will offer some shelter. The breeze will shift more onshore Southerly after lunch, and once that happens there’ll be no escape anywhere. The rest of the day will be a write off. Shred factor 3/10

Onshore S-SW winds around 15 knots have left the South Coast bumpy morning, and swell is still looking marginal. The  Middleton – Goolwa  stretch is messy at around 2′, and Waits and Parson’s should be slightly bigger but quality won’t be any better. It’ll stay onshore all day today, and winds may top 20 knots after lunch. You might get a grovel off the Point later if it picks up a bit, but really, it’s desperate stuff. Shred factor 3/10

Light onshores are adding a bit of a bump on the South Coast this morning, but at least there’s been some improvement in swell. The Middleton – Goolwa stretch is glassy at around 1 – 2′, and Waits and Parson’s should be slightly bigger. It’s hard to say when the wind will come up this morning, but once it does 15 knot onshore SW-S winds will settle in for the rest of the day. The arvo will be messy, and probably not much bigger. It’s not too bad early. Happy New Year! Shred factor 6/10
