South Coast

Conditions are glassy on the South Coast this morning with very light WNW winds, but again the swell is very west in direction and mostly missing. The Middleton – Goolwa stretch barely 1′, and Waits and Parson’s will only be marginally bigger. Winds are forecast to remain out of the West, picking up a bit this morning then easing off again through the middle part of the day. Conditions should remain fairly clean, but surf will remain very small all day. Shred factor 2/10

Conditions are glassy on the South Coast this morning with very light NW winds, but again a very westerly swell is pretty much rolling right past. The Middleton – Goolwa stretch is dead flat, and even Waits and Parson’s will be lucky to see whitewater. Winds are forecast to shift more onshore W-SW after lunch at 15 knots, so conditions will become a bit bumpy. Not that it matters much – surf will be lucky to top 1′ all day. Shred factor 1/10

Conditions are glassy on the South Coast this morning and winds are the lightest Northerly, but swell is almost non-existent. The  Middleton – Goolwa  stretch is like a lake with scarcely a ripple, even Waits and Parson’s will be lucky yo pock up 1′ sets early. Winds will be good all day, picking up late morning from the North but remaining offshore at 10 – 15 knots after lunch. Sadly, any new swell will have a lot of West in it and waves will most likely remain tiny all day. Shred factor 1/10

Northerly winds are gusting over 30 knots along exposed stretches on the South Coast this morning, and conditions are blown out and small. Surf is around 1′ along Middleton – Goolwa  stretch, amd Waits and Parson’s will only be slightly bigger. The good news is that winds should start to wind back in the next few hours, dropping to around 15 knots and possibly under 10 knots by early arvo. A SW-S change will arrive sometime after lunch and it’ll quickly become messy once that happens. There may be a window through the middle part of the day. Shred factor 4/10

Winds have dropped right out on the South Coast this morning and conditions are glassy first thing. Surf is around 2′ along Middleton – Goolwa  stretch, Waits and Parson’s will be slightly bigger. The bad news is that some wild weather is expected to arrive soon, first with N-NE winds picking up to 20 knots, then blowing every which way at up to 30 knots, finally tending E-SE. As soon as the wind starts to pick up it’ll be all over, so get on it ASAP. Shred factor 7/10

We’re back to onshores on the South Coast this morning with SE winds around 10 knots and lumpy, but well lined up swell. Surf is around 2 – 3′ along Middleton – Goolwa  stretch, Waits and Parson’s will be slightly bigger and winds will favour Parson’s beside the point. The forecast predicts SE winds up to 20 knots during the arvo, so most spots will be wind effected. If the swell kicks some more, a few sneaky spots out the other side of Victor may be worth a sniff. Winds are light from the NW on the South on the South Coast this morning, and conditions are glassy but still a bit lumpy. Surf is small at around 1′ along Middleton – Goolwa  stretch, Waits and Parson’s will be slightly bigger and you’re only hope for a shortboard wave this morning. The forecast predicts variable winds for the next few hours, but eventually an onshore sou-easter will take hold and turn it to mush. Swell should begin to pick up a bit after lunch, but it’ll be messy. You should be well into the festive cheer by then.  Merry Xmas! Shred factor 4/10

Conditions are glassy on the South Coast this morning, but swell is very small. Surf is barely 1′ along Middleton – Goolwa  stretch, and  Waits and Parson’s are bot much bigger. From here the story only gets worse with SW winds picking up and shifting onshore Southerly at 15 knots after lunch. The rest of the day will be bumpy and tiny.  Shred factor 6/10

Finally we have a light offshore Northerly breeze on the South on the South Coast this morning, and conditions are looking alright early. It’s glassy and swell is still carrying a little bit of Easterly lump, but it’s the best it’s looked in a while. Surf is around 2 – 3′ along Middleton – Goolwa  stretch, Waits and Parson’s will be slightly bigger if you’re chasing a bit more power. N-NE winds probably won’t get much over 10 knots this morning so it’ll be good for the next few hours. Don’t leave it too late though – a SW-S change will arrive in the early arvo and quickly turn it to mush.  Shred factor 8/10

Winds are light from the East on the South on the South Coast this morning, with typical lumpy summer conditions. Surf is around 2 – 3′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch, Waits and Parson’s will be slightly bigger and winds favouring Parson’s in beside the point. The forecast predicts winds will tend more onshore SE and pick up to 20 knots by late morning, turning the lumps to slops. There is a ray of hope with offshores tomorrow.  Shred factor 5/10
