South Coast

It’s looking good on the South Coast again this morning with  light offshore North winds, and clean,  well lined up swell early. It’s still pretty solid, with 5′ waves along the Middleton  to Goolwa stretch,  and surf ranging from 2 – 4′ between The Dump and Boomer. Waits and Parson’s will be struggling to hold the swell again today. The forecast predicts winds will remain out the N-NW and probably won’t get much over 10 – 15 knots. Swell will ease a bit after lunch, but it looks good all day. Shred factor 7/10

There’s a bit of a surprise with winds swinging back to a light Northerly offshore on the South Coast this morning, and conditions are clean and well lined up early. Swell is pretty solid, with 6′ waves along the Middleton  to Goolwa stretch,  and surf ranging from 2 – 5′ between The Dump and Boomer. Waits and Parson’s will be big this morning and you’ll probably need a jetski to get into them, but some other spots out that side of Victor will definitely be worth a look. Make the most of it while you can, the forecast predicts onshores will return at some stage, with SE winds and big, sloppy conditions after lunch. Hopefully pretty good for a few hours before that happens. Shred factor 8/10

Winds have gone ’round to the SW South Coast this morning, and conditions are just starting to get a few bumps from the onshores . Swell has risen slightly again, with 4′ waves along the Middleton  to Goolwa stretch. Chiton / Gap are clean at around 2 – 3′, Waits and Parson’s will be bigger with Waits Point only offering partial shelter. As winds tend more onshore Southerly conditions will become messy everywhere, but there is some hope later with the breeze dropping back under 10 knots mid – late arvo. Check Middleton Bay / Point early, or sometime aftre 5pm with lighter winds and peaky, head high waves. Shred factor 5/10

It’s offshore again on the South Coast this morning and conditions are nice and clean with 10 knot North winds . Swell is up a bit and will build over the next 24 hours, with 3 – 4′ waves along the Middleton to Goolwa stretch. Chiton / Gap are clean at around 2′, Waits and Parson’s will be bigger and both beaches will be glassy early. It’s gonna stay clean and offshore all day today, although it may get a bit blowey with gusts around 20 knots. Fortunately we’re probably not looking at blown out conditions today, and winds will tend more NW after lunch and ease a bit late arvo before the change arrives tonight. It’s a classic autumn day… get amongst it! Shred factor 8/10

Finally there’s a puff of offshore on the South Coast this morning and conditions are nice and clean early. Swell is a bit Westerly and yesterday’s onshores have left a bit of a wobble, but there are 3′ waves along the Middleton  to Goolwa stretch. Chiton / Gap are glassy at around 2′, Waits and Parson’s will be bigger and both beaches will be glassy early. The forecast looks good with winds remaining offshore all day, tending NW at around 10 knots after lunch. The Nor-wester will straighten it up nicely for the arvo, when some new swell should start to push in. Shred factor 7/10

Onshore SSW winds around 12 knots are adding a few lumps on the South Coast this morning, and swell has continued to wind back. Surf is around 3 – 4′ along the Middleton to Goolwa stretch, with wobbly 2’waves around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be bigger but neither will be great with the onshores. The breeze probably won’t get much stronger today but it will remain out of the South, so the arvo won’t be any cleaner. Try a grovel inside Middleton Bay of off the Point if you’re desperate.  Shred factor 4/10

Swell is up on the South Coast this morning and winds are light from the East early, but onshores yesterday and overnight have left it lumpy. Surf is around 5 ‘ inside the Bay at  Middleton with bigger sets breaking a fair way out down along the stretch from Dat St to Goolwa.  Chition / Gap are a little bit lumpy but pretty solid at around 4 – 5′, The Dump is glassy and slightly straighter at around 3’. It looks like the swell may still build some more this morning, so there’s a chance it’ll peak around morning smoko / lunchtime. Winds will start to tend more onshore SE and pick up later in the morning, turning it to big slops for the arvo. The Port Elliot – Victor stretch is your best bet, but there’s also some sheltered spots out the other side of Victor that will be worth  a gander with the bigger swell today.   Shred factor 5/10

Onshores overnight and yesterday have left a few lumps in the swell on the South Coast, but conditions are peaky / glassy early with no wind. Swell has backed off slightly but it’s still around 4 ‘ along the Middleton – Day St. stretch with the odd bigger set down toward Cliffs and Goolwa. Chiton / Gap are glassy at around 3’, Waits and Parson’s will be bigger but closing out. Winds will turn onshore during the morning and pick up to around 17 knots by mid arvo, so conditions will deteriorate throughout the day. It’s OK for an early though, if you’re on it ASAP.  Shred factor 6/10
