South Coast

Finally winds are light offshore on the South Coast  this morning, with N – NE winds and clean-ish conditions despite a bit of leftover wobble in the swell. Surf is around  2 – 3′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, with clean 1 – 2′ waves around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be bigger, winds will probably favour Parson’s slightly. A wind change will hit sometime during the morning, first turning winds NE-SE, then South, then SW at up tp 30 knots. By late arvo sheltered spots may be OK, but most likely swell won’t get big enough for them today. Get on it ASAP. Shred factor 7/10

Conditions are slightly lumpy / glassy on the South Coast  early, with light onshore S-SW winds. Surf is around  3′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, with semi-clean 1 – 2′ waves around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be bigger, but both spots may be a bit shifty. Winds may go a bit Easterly during the morning, but shift to a Southerly again for the arvo and blow around 15 knots. The rest of the day will be chopped up by the onshores. Shed factor 5/10

Winds have dropped to a light Westerly on the South Coast  early, and conditions are glassy with just a bit of leftover lump. Surf is around  3 – 4′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, with clean 2′ waves around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be bigger, winds will favour Waits Point early. Winds will shift more SW-S during the mornng and the onshores will chop it up for the  arvo. Best to hit it early, otherwise a grovel in the Bay at Middleton is probably all you’ll get.

Onshore SSE winds are up around 25 knots on the South Coast  early, and conditions are a mess. Swell has picked up and surf is around  4 – 5′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, but it’s just mush. Chiton / Gap have messy 2 – 3′ waves, with smaller ones at The Dump.  It’s gonna stay onshore and messy all day but winds should ease from mid morning onward, possibly even becoming light and variable  late arvo. It’s worth waiting to see if it tidies itself up a bit for a late one. Shred factor: 3/10

South Coast

Onshore Southerly winds around 5 knots are adding a bit of a wobble, but conditions on the South Coast are fairly clean early. Swell still has a lot of  West in it  and surf is around  2′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, with Waits and Parson’s picking up a few bigger sets. SW winds will start to pick up during the morning and may be gusting over 30 knots after lunch. Exposed stretches will get flogged by the wind and there won’t be enough swell for sheltered spots early, but hopefully that’ll change  later as some new swell kicks in. Shred factor 6/10

South Coast

Winds are light from the West at around 5 – 10 knots and conditions are clean on the South Coast early. Surf is around 1 – 2′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, with Waits and Parson’s picking up a few bigger sets. As winds pick up they’ll favour Waits down the point end of the beach. The forecast predicts winds will shift to the SW and increase during the morning, with gusts near 30 knots by mid arvo. Swell should start to pick up after lunch, so part sheltered spots like Middleton Bay or the Point might be OK mid arvo. Everywhere else will be copping it from the wind.

Winds are light from the SW and conditions are reasonably clean on the South Coast early, with just a bit of leftover wobble in the swell. Surf is around 3′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, with cleanish 1 – 2′ waves around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s should be a tad bigger, winds will favour Waits in nest to the point. Winds will pick up during the morning and tend more onshore Southerly at 15 – 20 knots after lunch. There’s a bit of a window early but conditions will deteriorate once the wind kicks in.  Shred factor 6/10

South Coast

More Easterlies and more summer lumpiness the South Coast this morning with winds around 12 knots. Surf is  around 3 – 4′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch but it’s breaking all over the place, with lumpy 2 – 3′ waves around at Chiton / Gap.  Onshores will pick up to around  20 knots during the day so the arvo will maintain the sloppy conditions  everywhere. Swell will remain a similar size, so try Chiton or small Dump for a grovel. There’s also a slim chance again for a few sheltered spots somewhere out the other side of Victor.  Shred factor: 4/10

Surf is  around 3 – 4′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch with lumpy 2 – 3′ waves around at Chiton / Gap.  Onshores will pick up to around  20 knots during the day so the arvo will maintain the sloppy conditions  everywhere. Swell will remain a similar size, so try the Port Elliot stretch for a grovel, or punt on there being enough swell for a few sheltered spots somewhere out the other side of Victor.  Shred factor 4/10

Onshores persist on the South Coast this morning, and conditions are bumpy with southerly winds around 10 knots. Surf is around 3 – 4′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch with lumpy 2 – 3′ waves around at Chiton / Gap. Onshores will pick up to around 20 knots during the day so the arvo will be sloppy everywhere. Swell will remain a similar size, so again it’s looking like Middleton Bay / Point might be your best option for a grovel today.
