South Coast

We’re back to onshores on the South Coast this morning, and conditions are bumpy with southerlies around 10 knots. Surf is  around 3 – 4′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch with peaky 2′ waves around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger, but spoiled by lumpiness. Onshores will pick up 15- 20 knots during the day so the arvo will be sloppy evenywhere. Swell will remain a similar size, so Middleton Bay /  Point might be your best option for a grovel today.

Winds are offshore at around 10 knots on the South Coast this morning, and conditions are clean first thing. Surf is still around 3 – 4′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch and lining up pretty well with clean 2′ waves around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be bigger, possibly closing out on the bigger sets. You’ll want to be on it about now, as a Southerly change will arrive around lunchtime and turn winds onshore. Conditions will deteriorate pretty quickly after the wind swings, and the arvo will be messy.  Sorry for the late report, only just got power back on.

It’s glassy again on the South Coast this morning with light offshore North winds around 5 knots, and just a little bit of leftover wobble in the swell.  Surf is holding around 2 – 3 ‘ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch with clean 1 – 2′ waves around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will in the 3’ range with a few bigger sets, both spots were OK yesterday and should be worth  a look today.  Winds will tend more Easterly mid morning but remain light before shifting SE just after lunch and adding some lumps. Probably best between 8 and 10am.

It’s looking ok  on the South Coast early  this morning with light offshore North winds around 5 knots early.  Swell is still carrying some lumps and surf is around 3′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch with clean 2′ waves around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger, but the bank situation at both beaches is a bit sketchy. Get on it as early as you can, winds will be light for a few hours before shifting East, then onshore SE for the arvo. The rest of the day will be lumpy once the sou-easters kick in. Shred factor 6/10

Conditions are a bit lumpy on the South Coast again this morning with East winds around 7 – 10 knots early. Underlying swell is fairly well lined up and surf is around 3 – 4 ‘ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch with clean 2’ waves around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger, winds will favour Parson’s but you’ll face a fair few closeouts. Winds will swing more onshore SE late morning and revert it to slops for the arvo. It’s not too bad early. Shed factor 6/10

South Coast

Conditions are lumpy on the South Coast this morning with East winds around 7 – 10 knots early, following a day of fresh SSE winds. Surf is around 3′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch and slightly improved on yesterday, but still not great. Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger, winds will favour Parson’s but the bank situation at either beach is not great. Some other spots around that side may be worth a look. Winds will shift more onshore SE-S and pick up to around 20 knots after lunch, so the lumps will revert to slops.

Onshores have returned with a vengeance  on the South Coast this morning with South winds around 25 knots making a mess of it.  Surf is around 2′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch and it’s over the place. Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger but no cleaner. It’ll stay like this all day, swell will build a bit after lunch but conditions will remain pretty awful. Winds will shift more to the SE in the evening.
