Mid Coast

Winds are light from the East and conditions and clean and glassy on the Mid Coast early, but swell remains on the small side. There are occasional 1′ waves hitting the reefs, but it’s very full coming off a bit high tide at 0545. The water draining out of the gulf won’t help after 8am, and by late morning a lot of reef will be exposed by a very low lunchtime tide. Low water will favour the beach breaks, but as the tide starts to head back in some of the reef breaks might lift slightly, or offer a few more sets. Winds look like they may go to a sea breeze my late morning, so the arvo could be bumpy. An evening sou-easter should clean it up again, but it probably won’t top 1′ today. Outlook for the rest of the week is in the updated surf forecast. Shred factor 4/10
