Mid Coast

4:30pm: Well… in case you’ve been under a rock for the entire day you would know we are officially out of lockdown after today’s revelations. There are still a few waves on the Mid, around 1 – 2′ with a 17 knot sou-easter blowing. High tide is 7:20pm, so you will still be able to pick off a few waves – albeit with a fair crowd at most spots. Normal reports will resume Saturday Nov 21 ( tomorrow ).

6am: The swell appears to have a bit of a wobble in it this morning, probably from the onshores late yesterday and into the evening. The wind is light again this morning, just a puff from the ESE so it’s glassy with waves round 1′. Some spots are picking up occasional bigger sets, despite a fairly big morning tide peaking at 0640. The wind will stay SE for the next few hours, but it looks like it’ll go sea-breeze after lunch and chop it up. Take some comfort in the fact you’re not missing anything epic today! Here’s a couple of random shots from a good day in September, 2009, when two Southern Right whales scored peeling lefts at The Hump all to themselves. One day down…. five to go.
