South Coast

The dreaded onshores continue to make a mess on the South Coast this morning, with winds tending 15 knots from the SSE. The swell has dropped further, and surf is back to around 2′ at Middleton, with a few bigger sets breaking down toward Cliffs and Goolwa. Quality is poor. There are junky 1 – 2′ waves around at Chiton Rocks, Waits and Parson’s will be bigger but you’ll find no quality around that side either. It’s just not gonna get any better today with onshore winds getting up around 20 knots after lunch. The swell won’t change much either, and surf will remain in the “two foot dross” range at Middleton all day. Outlook heading into the long weekend is in the latest surf forecast. Shred factor 4/10.
