South Coast

A light West wind has helped to smooth the sea on the South Coast this morning, despite the expectation it’d be onshore. There’s still some swell left too, Middleton is around 2 – 3′ and looking reasonably clean under the full moon. There are a few bigger sets breaking down toward Cliffs and Goolwa, but the swell is not quite as lined up down there. A few 2′ waves are getting in around at Chiton / Gap, Waits will be bigger and part sheltered up toward the Point. The BoM predicts all sorts of scenarios for the wind, possibly NW, possibly onshore, or both separated by a few hours. Late arvo is a chance for WNW winds if onshores pop up in between. In any case, the wind probably won’t top 10 knots all day. Grab a few early if you can, it’s nowhere near as bad as expected. Check the new surf forecast to see how the next few days are shaping up.
