South Coast

A solid new swell is hitting the South Coast for the start of the working week, but 10 knot SW winds are adding bumps. Surf is in the 5 – 6′ range between Middleton and Goolwa, and some of the sets are breaking a long way out to sea. The Bay at Middleton is still fairly clean and there are gaps in between the sets. There are 3 – 4′ slabs up the Boomer end of the Port Elliot to Vuistor stretch but the swell doesn’t seem to be getting in there as much. There are also small, clean waves at the Dump. The wind will stay onshore all day today, possibly picking up to 17 knots after lunch. Wave heights should lift between Knights and The Dump during the day, so other part-sheltered spots may be an option later.
