South Coast

Conditions are on the turn on the South Coast this morning, with Westerly winds at 15 knots and stronger gusts. The swell is really west in direction too, so it’s not that big – surf is a blown-out looking 1′ at Middleton and not a whole lot bigger down toward Cliffs and Goolwa. Wais Point will be out of the wind and a bit bigger, probably the only option for a shortboard wave early. The wind will pick up and tend WSW by lunchtime, possibly to 30 knots, then SW later as it begins to ease. The swell will build after lunch and Middleton Bay might become an option, but the really sheltered spots probably won’t get big enough. The Dump is an outside chance for a late one. New surf forecast will be posted this evening.
