South Coast

The swell is bigger and well defined on the South Coast this morning, but strong westerly winds are flogging it along open stretches. Surf is in the 5′ range at Middleton and it’s breaking a long way out off Day St. / Cliffs and down toward Goolwa. There are bumpy 4′ waves around at Chiton / Gap and 2′ waves at The Dump. Waits will offer partial shelter up toward the point but it’ll be pretty big and closing out mostly. The swell might even be bigger later, but with 30 knot WSW winds, sheltered spots will be your best bet. The cross-shores should lighten off a bit toward evening.
