South Coast

It’s cooler on the  South Coast this morning with the wind off the sea, and slightly bumpy conditions with 10 knot Southerlies. Surf is only about 1′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch, Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger but quality is unlikely to impress. The breeze will pick up during the morning, so too will the swell but it’ll be messy after lunch and heading into the weekend. Probably won’t get much over 1 – 2′ today anyway. Shred factor 4/10

Mid Coast

Winds have quickly gone back to the SE on the Mid Coast following the change, and conditions are glassy with overcast skies. Surf is still small and only shin-high on the reefs heading through high tide. Nothing much will change as the tide heads out, and the beachies will only be small through low water at lunchtime. Southerly winds will pick up after lunch and add some bumps, and wave heights will be lucky to top 1′. Shred factor 2/10

South Coast

Conditions are clean South Coast this morning with light offshore North winds, but fading swell. Surf is around 1 – 2′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch, with Waits or Parson’s a better bet for shortboarders. Northerly winds will pick up this morning and may gust around 20 knots soon, blowing out the small swell along exposed stretches. A W-SW change is forecast, and will probably hit early arvo. Surf will remain small and become bumpy after lunch.  Shred factor 7/10

Mid Coast

NNE winds are up around 10 – 15 knots on the Mid Coast early, addling a bit of a wobble to the fading swell. Surf is barely a foot on the reefs and very full just coming off a big morning tide. It won’t get any better as the tide heads out and winds swing more NNW at up to 20 knots.  A W-SW change is expected sometime mid arvo, but it won’t be strong or early enough to produce a stormy anywhere. It’ll be choppy after the wind swings, and probably only about 1′.

South Coast

Winds are light NE on the South Coast this morning and conditions are glassy, but very slightly wobbly from sou-easters yesterday. Surf is around 2′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch and 1- 2′, with around at Chiton / Gap. Waitpinga and Parson;s should be a bit bigger, winds will slightly favour Parson’s. The forecast predicts E – NE winds at 10 – 15 knots for the rest of the day, so hopefully the breeze has more North than East in it. Swell may fade a bit after lunch, but it should be fairly clean all day. Shred factor 7/10

Mid Coast

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with offshore East winds around 7 knots, and  a few small lines of W-SW swell. Surf is around 1′ on the reefs with occasional bigger sets, and a very full morning tide. Only high tide spots ar breaking at the moment, but the dropping tide may open up some more options. The beachies will have a few small peelers through low tide at lunch, but the reefs probably won’t top 1′ on the incoming tide. Winds will be good for the first half of the day, but a shift to Southerlies mid arvo will add bumps. A land breeze will kick in around tea-time and clean it up again. Shred factor 4/10

South Coast

Conditions have straightened up a bit on the South Coast this morning with winds from the WSW at around 7 knots. The Middleton – Goolwa stretch is sort of lined up with a bit of leftover bump at around 3- 4′, with peaky / glassy 2′ waves around at Chiton / Gap. The next few hours will be OK for a paddle, but winds will gradually turn more onshore Southerly. The arvo will be messy with 10 – 15 knot SSE winds.  Shred factor 6/10

Mid Coast

Winds are back to a light sou-easter and conditions are clean on the Mid Coast, with just a slight bit of leftover wobble in the swell. Surf is only about a foot and very full with the supermoon high tide. About the only spots breaking are Seaford Reef and Freddy Nerk’s, and even then the sets are few and far between. The beachies will probably have a few small peelers through low tide late morning, but the reefs won’t be any bigger after lunch. Southerly winds in the 15 knot range are forecast too, so it’ll most likely be a bit bumpy. Shred factor 3/10

South Coast

It’s still onshore and messy on the South Coast this morning with SSW winds around 25 knots. The Middleton – Goolwa stretch is mushy at around 3- 4′, with 2 – 3′ junky surf around at Chiton / Gap. Nothing much will change today with onshores persisting all day and swell fading slightly toward evening. Try Middleton Bay or possibly The Dump if you’re absolutely desperate. Shred factor 3/10

Mid Coast

Stormy conditions have eased on the Mid Coast overnight, with SSW winds back to around 15 knots.  Surf is still messy at around 2′ on the reefs with some bigger sets, and the tide just starting to head out. Low tide’s at 11:40 an high tide is just before 6pm. The forecast predicts SSW winds at 15 – 20 knots for the rest of the day, so you’ll get a grovel at Seaford or possibly the Southern end of South Port late arvo. Shred factor 4/10
