South Coast

Conditions are messy on South Coast early with onshore SW winds around 20 knots. Surf is around 3′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and 2′ around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger, but quality will be pretty dismal around that side of Victor. It’ll stay onshore all day today with winds tending SSW at 20 knots after lunch. Again, try Middleton Bay or Chiton if you’re absolutely desperate for a wave. Shred factor 3/10

Mid Coast

Southerly winds around 10 knots are adding bumps on the Mid Coast this morning, with the same small swell we’ve seen all week. Surf is around 1′ on the reefs and nowhere looks that great, coming up to high tide at 0847. The dropping tide won’t change much, but the lower tide may mean a few more waves on the beachies mid arvo. It’s going to stay bumpy pretty much all day with South winds up around 15 – 20 knots later. The breeze should swing back to a sou-easter and clean it up a bit heading toward sunset.  Shred factor 4/10

South Coast

Conditions are clean and glassy on South Coast early, with light NNW winds. Swell is smooth and well lined up, just not all that big  with surf  around 2′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch. Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger and a better bet for shortboarders.  A cool change is on the way, and ahead of it NW winds will pick up and possibly blow it out, with a shift to the SW early afternoon. Conditions could start to deteriorate anytime from now on, but you might sneak a few if you’re quick. Shred factor 7/10

Mid Coast

It’s glassy with no wind on the Mid Coast again this morning, and there’s even a few lines of swell still hanging around. Surf is around 1′ on the reefs with occasional bigger sets, coming up to high tide at 0750. The current situation may be short lived with strengthening NW winds on the way, ahead of a gusty W-SW change early arvo. Onshores may get up around 30 knots later today and it’ll whip up some wind swell, but it probably won’t develop into a full-blown stormy. Messy 2′ is more likely, with winds easing into the evening.
