Mid Coast

SSW winds around 10 knots are adding bumps on the Mid Coast this morning, but there are a few 1′ waves on the reefs with occasional bigger sets. The tide has just peaked and is now heading out to a low 0.3m at 1120. The dropping tide will hammer the small swell on the reefs, but the beachies should pick up some more waves through low tide. Winds are forecast to tend SW -S during the morning, becoming light and variable by evening. The reefs should have some small, semi-clean waves on the incoming tide. Shred factor 3/10

Mid Coast

NNE winds around 15 knots are adding a few bumps on the Mid Coast this morning, with surf around 1′ and the water still looking a bit dirty. The tide is heading out until 11am, and the lower tide will favour the beachies – but you really should stay away from South Port due to the amount of flood debris and pollution floating around. Winds may get up around 20 knots during the morning, before easing off ahead of a SW-S change late arvo. The incoming tide may see a small lift in wave height and a glass off at some stage.  Shred factor 2/10

Winds are from the NW at around 12 knots on the Mid Coast early, and conditions are bumpy. Surf is around 1′ on the reefs, and the tide is heading out until 1030. The water is still pretty dirty along the Mid, and South Port is still a complete mess in the wake of the floods – best to stay out of the water there. Winds will pick up from the North this morning and tend NNW at around 15 knots after lunch. The reefs may have bumpy waves on the incoming tide, but it’s unlikely to be spectacular. Things have settled down on the Mid Coast after yesterday’s blow, and the wind is back to around 10 knots from the SW. The sea is still bumpy and brown with surf barely 1′ on the reefs, and the tide heading out until 10am. The lower tide may offer a grovel on the beachies mid morning, but the water at South Port is pretty dirty thanks to the deluge still coming down the Onka – best avoided for a day or two. The incoming tide will probably see things straighten up a bit, and winds should go to alight No-wester by mid arvo. Surf looks like remaining small though. Shred factor 1/10

Mid Coast

It’s a wet and windy hump day on the Mid Coast with winds around to the WSW and gusts over 30 knots. There’s also been 7mm of rain already, and the strong winds are beginning to whip up a stormy in the gulf.  Surf is already around 2 – 3′ but it’ll probably get bigger during the morning, so head for your favourite stormy venues. Metro beachies and Jetties may even be big enough to surf later today, and you can bet Adelaide’s worst kept secret spot will draw a crowd. Sou-westers may gust over 40 knots during the next few hours, then ease back to 20 – 30 knots by mid  arvo. The stormy could end up quite sizey today. Shred factor 3/10

Conditions are clean again on the Mid Coast with light East winds, and a few lines of swell persisting. Surf is around 1′ on the reefs, with a nominal low tide at 0850 and a minor peak at 3pm. The next few hours will be OK for a few small waves, but after lunch winds will trend more SE-S and pick up, adding bumps along exposed stretches. The Southern end of South Port will offer partial shelter later today. Shred factor 6/10

Mid Coast

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with light ENE winds, and a few lines of swell persisting. Surf is around 1 – 2′ on the reefs, with a nominal high tide at 1120. The rest of the day will be a near-dodge, with only 50cm of ( outgoing ) tidal movement until 10pm. Winds will be OK this morning and probably OK for the rest of the day, the forecast predicts a shift to a fresh Sou-easter which might add some bumps if it goes too Southerly. There’ll be waves all day though.  Shred factor 7/10

Light NNE winds are adding a slight wobble on the Mid Coast this morning, but there’s still some swell sneaking in. Surf is around 2′ on the reefs coming up to high tide at 8:45am. There’s not much movement in the outgoing tide so the reefs won’t be too badly effected. It also means there’s not much incoming tide this arvo, but with winds predicted to go light / variable it should be nice and clean for a late one. Shred factor 6/10

Onshores continue on the Mid Coast this morning and conditions are bumpy with WSW winds around 10 knots. There is some WSW swell underneath the bumps, and there are a few 1 – 2′ waves on the reefs coming up to high tide at 8am. The dropping tide will kill it a bit mid morning, but the lower tide might bring a few more waves to the beachies early arvo. Winds should ease all day and become light / variable after lunch, so with some luck the incoming tide will see some OK waves on the reefs later. Shred factor 4/10

Winds have swung around to the WSW following the chance last night, and conditions are bumpy on the Mid Coast this morning. Surf is only around 1′ coming up to high tide, and it won’t really improve once the tide starts to head out. You might manage a grovel on the beachies through low tide early arvo , and there will probably be messy waist high waves on the reefs after lunch as the tide heads back in. The forecast predicts onshore W-SW winds at around 15 knots all day, so it won’t clean up during the daylight hours. Shred factor 2/10
