South Coast

The swell’s on the rise on the South Coast this morning, but it’s getting flogged by fresh ESE winds at 15 – 20 knots. Middleton is pretty dreadful with sloppy. brown 4 – 5′ surf, and it doesn’t look any prettier along the Day St – Goolwa stretch. There are 3′ lumps around at Chiton / Gap, and smaller lumps at The Dump. Waits and Paron’s will be really big and the Waits side will be hideous – but Parson’s may offer some large slabs ( and plenty of big closeouts ) and the Point will shade it from the wind. There might be some other options around that side as long as the wind stays SE. It is expected to tend more SSE at 25 knots, before easing mid arvo. The swell will be bigger later, but anywhere with any exposure to the wind will be out of the question. Check the latest surf forecast to see how the rest of the weekend’s looking.
