The wind has swung to the SE at 12 knots overnight, and conditions are clean early on the Mid Coast. There’s some new swell but it’s gone somewhere else – just too much South in it to have much effect in the gulf. Surf is only around half a foot, with a few 1′ sets now and then coming up to high tide at 0650. The dropping tide after 8am won’t change things a whole lot, but the wind looks like it will pick up and tend more Southerly. Exposed stretches will get a few bumps, the SOuthern end of South Port will offer part shelter at least. The incoming tide should provide a small pulse, and it might lift wave heights to waist high before it gets too full. The wind should be SE and back to 10 – 15 knots again by late arvo. High tide is at 0645. Check the latest surf forecast to see how the rest of the weekend’s looking.
