South Coast

It’s looking pretty good on the South Coast this morning, swell is well lined up and glassy early with light NNE winds. Surf is around 2 – 3′ at Middleton, with occasional bigger sets between gaps down toward Cliffs and Goolwa. Chiton / Gap have glassy waves around 1 – 2′, but Waits and Parson’s will be bigger but again a bit marginal on the sets. The swell will hold steady this morning but should begin to build late arvo heading into the weekend. The bad news is that NW winds will start to build soon, possibly getting over 20 knots by mid morning, and stronger by lunchtime. A gusty W-SW change will roll through now long after, turning the breeze cross-onshore and trashing anywhere exposed. Sheltered spots probably won’t get a look-in today, but over the weekend they might. It’ll be wind effected after lunch so grab what you can early while winds are light. Outlook heading into the weekend is in the latest surf forecast. Shred factor 8/10.
