South Coast

The wind is dead offshore from the North and light early, and conditions are clean on the South Coast will a nicely lined up swell. Unfortunately, the direction is still a bit off, and surf at Middleton is around 2′, with occasional bigger sets down toward Cliffs and Goolwa. Surf is around 1 – 2′ at Chiton / Gap, Waitspinga and Parson’s will be bigger for more experienced surfers. Right now is probably the best it’ll look all day. The breeze will begin to pick up soon and tend more Westerly, hitting 20 knots or more by morning smoko. From there it only gets worse with gusts neat 30 knots from the WSW by mid arvo. Really sheltered spots won’t be big enough, and exposed breaches will be blown out. Get on it ASAP – the next few days look a bit blowey. More on that in the latest surf forecast. Shred factor 7/10.
