South Coast

Cross-shore West winds are adding a bit of a lump on the South Coast this morning, but there’s still a fairly solid swell running. Surf is easily 5′ at Middleton, and there are a few bigger sets breaking a long way out to sea between Day St. and Goolwa. There are bumpy 4′ waves around at Chiton, and semi-clean 2′ waves at The Dump. Part sheltered spots may be worth a look early while the swell is still up. It will probably fade a bit after lunch, and the wind will swing more SW and pick up to 20 knots or so. Open beaches will become more wind affected, and the only option will be sheltered breaks. The Dump will probably be an option all day. Outlook for the rest of the week is in the updated surf forecast. Shred factor 4/10.
