South Coast

The wind is very light cross-offshore on the South Coast this morning and conditions are glassy early – but still small. The swell continues to disappoint, and surf is still only around 1 – 2′ at Middleton and no bigger between Day, St and Goolwa. Waits and Parson’s are about your only hope for a shortboard wave early, in the 2′ range. Onshore winds will kick in soon, and by lunchtime sou-westers may be around 20 knots and making a mess of it. The swell should begin to lift after lunch, but probably only enough for a grove in the Bay at Middleton. The swell direction looks like will go very Southerly late arvo / overnight, which may open up some interesting options tomorrow. Shred factor 5/10
