South Coast

Swell is solid on the South Coast this morning, but West winds at 10 -15 knots are taking the gloss off. Surf is easily 6′ between Middleton and Goolwa, but the paddle looks horrendous with long rows of whitewater breaking a looooooong way out. The swell’s looking a bit raw in the Bay, so sheltered spots will be your best bet this morning. Conditions are a bit cleaner between Victor and Middleton, and it’s big enough for Bullies and too big for Knight’s. Chiton / Gap are picking up a few 4 – 6′ slabs, and the Dump is shoulder – head high on the sets and clean. The wind will swing more onshore later this morning, tending SW-S at 20 knots after lunch. Quality will deteriorate and the small number of options will dry up. Grab some size and OK quality this morning if you’re fit. Outlook heading into the weekend is in the latest surf forecast, but it’s due for a refresh.
