South Coast

West winds are gusting 25 knots along exposed stretches of the South Coast this morning, but out of the wind it’s not so bad. There’s swell at least ana d Middleton has a few semi-clean 4′ waves in the Bay, and there are bigger sets off the Point and down toward Cliffs and Goolwa. It is looking pretty blown out the further you get from town. It’s looking more wind effected at the Port Elliot end with messy 2 – 4′ surf at Knight’s nad Boomer, and semi-clean 1′ waves at The Dump. Waits Point will be part sheltered but probably closing out on the sets. A few other part sheltered spots may be worth a look later as the swell lifts. The wind will stay up for the better part of the day, tending S-SW at 30 knots until late arvo. I’ll try and get a fresh forecast out this evening as the situation has changed from last week.
