South Coast

Conditions are lumpy on the South Coast this morning with East winds around 10 knots early. Surf is around 2 – 3′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and peaky 1 – 2′  around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger, and winds will favour Parson’s in beside the point. E-SE winds will keep it lumpy for much of the arvo, but a late shift to NE winds may straighten it up a bit this evening. Shred factor 5/10

Onshore winds have almost dropped on the South Coast overnight, and shifted to a light Nor-easter early. Conditions are lined up but still a bit lumpy this morning. Surf is around 4′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and peaky / glassy 2′  around at Chiton / Gap. The forecast predicts light / variable winds for the next few hours, but onshores look like kicking in again after lunch and adding chop. Try Middleton Bay / Point or somewhere between Railways and The Dump. Shred factor 6/10sth1

Onshore winds are hammering the South Coast this morning with Southerlies gusting over 25 knots. Surf is sloppy along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch at around 4 – 5′, with messy 3′ surf around at Chiton / Gap. It’ll stay onshore all day today, although swell may build a bit after lunch. Even sheltered spots won’t offer much protection, but you might get a grovel inside Middleton Bay or possibly The Dump. Shred factor 3/10

Winds are from the ENE at around 5 – 7 knot on the South Coast early, with peaky / glassy conditions. Surf is around 3′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and glassy 2′ around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger, and again winds will favour Parson’s. The forecast predicts NE-N winds will pick up during the morning, possibly gusting over 25 knots. Winds are almost trying to go offshore on the South Coast this morning, tending ENE at 5 – 7 knot. Swell has lifted overnight and is lined up, but a bit lumpy from days of SE-S wind. Surf is around 3′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and glassy 2′ around at Chiton / Gap.  Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger, 4′ or more, and winds will favour Parson’s. The next few hours is probably the bext of it, and conditions will deteriorate as winds go back around to the SE-S at 15 – 20 knots after lunch. Swell will kick a bit during the day, so there may be some sneaky options beyond Victor – somewhere between the rising swell and winds going dead onshore. Shred factor 6/10

We’re back to onshores on the South Coast this morning, with SSW winds at 10 knots adding some bumps. Aside from that, swell is very W-SW so it’s pretty small, with surf only around 1′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch.  Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger and possibly glassy early, but everywhere will fall prey to stronger onshores soon. The forecast predicts S-SW winds up to 20 knots which means slops for the rest of the day, and the weekend looks like more of the same. Shred factor 5/10
