SA surf outlook Sep 17

I know, I know, it’s late… but credit has been a bit hard to come by this week.

But geez… how good has Spring 2019 been so far? Day after day of light offshores on the South Coast,  almost non-stop swell and quality all over Yorkes from Marion to Berry Bay, and not one but two thumper swells on the fickle Mid Coast.  Can it continue? Let’s pass that question to Huey, the god of waves.

Huey:

My children, there beith an unbalance in thy weather, and whence, some winds of inconsequence.

Commenceth Wednesday,  a light zephyr from the Northeast and lo, a fading swell on thy Mid Coast. The coast of brown and weed will be blessed with offshore winds, yet cursed with a fading swell and 2 – 3′ waves.

Thursday seeth an invigorating in the air, and a firm North wind of twenty knots. Despair for bumpy 1′ surf along the Mid Coast, but behold 3 – 4′ waves at Middleton. Alas… the wind may well overcome your efforts to climb upon the waves I send you.

Overnight on Friday the wind changeth, and the heavens may bring forth dampness to your coastal regions. The wind bloweth from the way of the setting sun,  and it brings caps of white upon my seas.  The coast of brown and weed will only see surf of two feet, and thy Mid Coast scarcely one foot.

As the sabbath approacheth, the heathen sabbath will see a weakening of the breeze and thus, a possible smoothing of my seas as the sun passes its highest. A strengthening of thy swell favours thy Mid Coast, and 2 – 3′ waves may lap its shores beyond noon. Also, behold a rising of the seas from the town of lakes to the windy place on the coast facing the land of ice. It may be four feet and the wind from the West at 15 knots.

The sabbath shall be of light winds from the direction of the setting sun, more North at first, slightly south at last. The coast of brown and weed shall be much like the day before for swell and wind, and the gulf of the Pietist Vincent will have waves of two feet.

As the time of rest ends and the time of work resumes, I will continue to send swell of two and three feet and in between.

Thy prophecy may be divinely altered twixt now and eventuality.

Ye.
