Mid Coast

North winds are light early at 7 knots on the Mid Coast, and there was even a very short rain shower overnight. Conditions are clean but the swell is marginal, with waves around 1′ on the reefs. It’s already 32°C outside, and it’s gonna get hot again ahead of a cool change. N-NW winds will start to pick up not long after sunrise, adding chop to gulf waters. The breeze will become gusty for a couple of hours and may get over 25 knots, before swinging to the West as the change moves in. There’s already a few flashes of lightning across the gulf, so a thunderstorm looks likely later today. Strong SW winds will arrive soon after and temperatures will quickly drop, as some new SW swell starts yo push in. There’ll be stormy 2′ waves by late arvo nut it will be choppy. Proper stormy spots probably won’t have time to get big enough, but grommies will find something surfable at Seaford this evening with moderating SW winds. Last surf forecast for 2019 is up, get on it. Shred factor 2/10
