Mid Coast

There’s a bit of swell getting into the Gulf this morning following on from yesterday’s stormy, although there are still some bumps. The wind is lighter onshore from the West at 7 knots so it’s not exactly clean, but there are good lines of groundswell and 2′ waves hitting the reefs. There are some occasional bigger sets at selected spots, but as the tide starts to drain out they’ll come less and less often. Low tide at lunch will favour the beach breaks at South Port and Moana. There will still be some waves on the incoming tide, but with W-SW winds in the 15 knots range it wall stay bumpy all day. The breeze will go SW-S by evening, so the SOuthern end of South Port will offer partial protection and 2′ waves. Outlook heading into the first long weekend of 2020 is in the latest surf forecast.
