South Coast

The anticipated lift in swell has happened on the South Coast overnight, and it’s looking pretty solid this morning thanks to a new, very Southerly swell. Middleton is easily 4′, and there are even a few bigger sets breaking a fair way out between Day St. and Goolwa. Unfortunately, 12 knot East winds are making a mess of it and it’s very bumpy. The Port Elliot – Victor stretch is pretty solid but also wind effected, with messy 4′ sets at Chiton and a few bombs close to 6′ hitting the Boomer / Knights end. The Dump might get you out for a lumpy wave. There are a few lesser known options that will be worth a look this morning, but that’s up to your imagination and / or specialist knowledge. The wind will swing more onshore SE after lunch so it won’t clean up, but the swell will be solid all day. A bit of a drive and an open mind might just pay off today. Might Shred factor 5/10
