South Coast

The swell has lifted slightly on the South Coast overnight, but the wind is already wafting onshore at 7 knots early. Surf is around 1′ at Middleton, with occasional 1 – 2′ sets between Day St. and Goolwa. There are also a few peaky 1 – 2′ waves around at Chiton Rocks. Waits and Parson’s will be slightly bigger, but winds will probably rule both out. The breeze could start to build anytime from now on, and by lunchtime the Southerly may be up to 20 knots. The swell looks like it might pick up some more later, but everywhere will be badly wind affected. There’s maybe one to two hours of log waves this morning. Outlook for the rest of the week is in the latest surf forecast. Shred factor 5/10
