South Coast

Winds are light offshore from the NNE on the South Coast early, but days of sou-easters have left the swell pretty lumpy.  Surf is around 2 – 3′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch, Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger and Parson’s will favour the East in the wind later. The forecast predicts onshore SE winds again after lunch so it’ll become messy, but it may straighten up a bit mid morning.  Shred factor 5/10

Mid Coast

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with East winds around 3 knts, but even smaller swell this morning. There are only ankle slappers hitting the reefs and the sets wouldn’t even be a foot, with the tide heading out until 1120. The lower tide will only offer learner waves on the beachies, and a sea breeze will start to pick up soon after. It’ll be near flat and bumpy after lunch.  Shred factor 1/10

South Coast

Easterly winds around 10 knots are adding lumps on the South Coast early, and they’ve also pushed plenty of brown gunk up from the Murray Mouth.  Surf is around 3′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch, Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger and Parson’s will  offer partial shelter. Winds will tend more onshore SE after lunch at 10 – 15 knots, so it’ll go from lumps to slops.  Shred factor 4/10

Mid Coast

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with East winds around 12 knts, and a few small lines of swell. Surf is still only 1′ on the reefs, and the tide’s heading out until 1050. The lower tide might offer some peelers on the beachies, but a sea breeze looks like it’ll kick in not long after lunch. The arvo will be bumpy, and probably no bigger than this morning.  Shred factor 3/10

South Coast

We’re finally moving into classic summer doldrums with another day of onshores on the South Coast.  Winds are around 15 knots from the SSE and conditions are sloppy, with surf around 3′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch. Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger, Parson’s will only offer partial shelter while the wind maintains some east in it. The arvo looks sloppier with SSE winds possibly over 20 knots.  Try Middleton Bay / Point if you’re desperate. Shred factor 3/10

Mid Coast

SE winds are around 7 knots and conditions are clean on the Mid Coast, but it’s small again. Surf is still barely a foot on the reefs, and it’s probably not gonna get much better as it fights the slow drain of the outgoing tide. The lower tide will favour the beachies but it’ll only provide learner waves or small peelers for large, buoyant surfboards. There’s sharks pretty much everywhere, and a fresh southerly wind will kick in after lunch and chop it up. So that’ll pretty much be it for the day.  Shred factor 2/10

South Coast

Winds are onshore from the South at around 15 knots on South Coast early, and conditions are messy. Surf is around and mushy 1-2′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch, Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger but quality won’t be any better. South winds are forecast to pick up and may gust over 20 knots after lunch, so it’s not looking good for the rest of the day. The weekend looks onshore as well. Shred factor 3/10

Mid Coast

South winds around 7 knots are adding a bit of a wobble on the Mid Coast this morning, and swell is probably the smallest it’s been in a week. Surf is barely 1′ on the reefs, and there’s a minor low tide at 0940. There’s not much movement in the tide all day, but there is an afternoon peak at 3pm. We should see a few lines of new swell begin to sneak in after lunch, but with Southerly winds around 20 knots, quality will be pretty poor. The Southern end of South Port will offer some protection and small waves toward sunset.   Shred factor 3/10

South Coast

Conditions are lumpy / glassy on South Coast early with light East winds around 5 knots. Surf is around 1-2′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch, with Waits and Parson’s around 2′ and Parson’s Point the better option. Winds will shift more onshore SW-S during the day and pick up, so the lumps will turn to mush after lunch. Shred factor 4/10

Mid Coast

Winds are light from the SE and conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early, with the same small swell hanging around. Surf is about one foot on the reefs, coming up to a minor high tide at 0930. There’s not much movement in the tide at all, and the wind will have a greater effect on conditions overall. The forecast is for S-SW winds up to 20 knots after lunch, so it’ll be bumpy until the evening land breeze kicks in. Swell will probably fade during the day.  Shred factor 5/10
