Mid Coast

Winds have pulled an early switch back to the SE on the Mid Coast, and conditions are clean early with just a bit of leftover bump. Surf is around 2′ on the reefs, coming up to high tide. The dropping tide may kill it a bit mid morning, and there’s a chance North winds will come up and add a few bumps. The very low tide will favour the beachies at lunchtime, and the incoming tide should provide a bit of a pulse. Winds should drop out mid arvo and possibly go back to very light offshore in the evening. Waves all day.  Shred factor 7/10

South Coast

Conditions are glassy with light WNW winds on the South Coast again this morning, and a slight lift in swell. Surf is around 2 – 3′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and 1 – 2′ around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be bigger, and the west in the wind will favour Waits over Parson’s. W-SW winds may get up around 25 knots in the next few hours, so exposed stretches will become blown out. The wind should ease off again after lunch, back to 10 – 15 knots by late arvo. Mid Coast

Winds are onshore from the West at around 15 knots and conditions are bumpy on the Mid Coast again this morning. Surf is around 2′ but quality is pretty poor. Nothing much will change with the dropping tide, but the beachies will offer a grovel through low tide at midday. The forecast predicts WSW winds may be up around 20 to 30 knots during the morning, but the stormy might not be enough for really sheltered spots to fire. Wind and seas should settle down again mid – late arvo with sou-westers around 20 knots. Shred factor 3/10

South Coast

Conditions are glassy with light WNW winds on the South Coast early, although swell is a bit westerly in direction. Surf is around 2′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and 1 – 2′ around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be bigger, and the west in the wind will favour Waits over Parson’s. Gusty W-NW winds are predicted for the rest of the day, so exposed stretches will become blown out and sheltered spots won’t be big enough to break. Another day to grab what you can early.  Shred factor 7/10

Mid Coast

Winds are onshore from the West at around 12 knots and conditions are bumpy on the Mid Coast this morning. There is some WSW swell underneath the bumps and a few 1 – 2′ waves, but quality is pretty poor. The dropping tide won’t help a lot, but the beachies will offer a grovel through low tide at midday. The forecast predicts winds around 20 knots before shifting NW and gusting 20 – 30 knots by late arvo. It’ll stay windy / messy all day.  Shred factor 3/10

South Coast

Conditions are glassy with light offshores NW winds on the South Coast this morning, although swell is still on the small side. Surf is around 1 – 2′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, still really only an option for longboards / SUPs.  Shortboarders will be better off heading around to Waits where there should be a few 2′ waves and occasional bigger sets. The swell should build a bit during the day but winds will become less favourable, tending Westerly at around 20 knts then onshore SW mid arvo. It’s looking OK early though. Shred factor 7/10

Mid Coast

NW winds are back to around 10 – 15 knots on the Mid Coast early, and conditions are bumpy. There’s still not much in the way of surf, with half a foot lumps on the reefs. Nothing much will change on the outgoing tide, but the beachies may serve up a grovel through low tide at lunch. The arvo should see winds swing more W-SW at around 20 knots, so the reefs may have a few messy waist high waves. Low expectations today.  Shred factor 1/10

South Coast

Conditions are clean with light offshores on the South Coast this morning, but  swell is small despite being well lined up. Surf is around 1′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch with rare bigger sets, only suitable for longboards / SUPs.  Shortboarders will be better off heading around to Waits / Parson’s where there should be a few 1 – 2′ waves and several options along both beaches. Unfortunately winds are forecast to pick up this morning and gust to 30 knots from the N-NW, shifting strong NW-W after lunch. The whole South coast will be blown out and stay that way for the rest of the day. The next couple of hours will be the best of it so get moving. Shred factor 6/10

Mid Coast

NNE winds are up around 22 knots on the Mid Coast early, pushing whitecaps and bumps down the gulf. Apart from that conditions are dead flat with no swell and no waves. Not a whole lot will change in that regard with swell remaining tiny and Northerly winds gusting near 30 knots by mid morning. The breeze is forecast to shift NW-W and ease to around 15 knots by evening, but there’ll be nothing surfable all day.   Shred factor 1/10

South Coast

Winds have swung back to light offshores on the South Coast this morning, but overnight Easterlies have left conditions a bit lumpy. Surf is around 2 – 3′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and peaky 1- 2′ waves around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger, with Parson’s tolerating the Easterly wobble in the swell better than Waits. Northerly winds will get up around 20 knots later and may blow it out a bit along exposed stretches, but it will help straighten up the swell a bit. Shred factor 6/10
