Mid Coast

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with 10 – 15 knot SE winds and a minor lift in the swell. There are 1′ waves on a few of the reefs, and the tide peaks around 6am. The outgoing tide will kill the small swell after 0730, but lower water will open up a few other options. Low tide at 1pm will favour Trigs and the beach breaks. but by then the wind will be more from the South and probably 15 – 20 knots. Anywhere exposed will be bumpy, but the Southern end of South Port will offer some shelter. The swell might build a bit on the incoming tide after lunch, and the wind should start to swing SE again after 6pm.

South Coast

Onshore SW winds have arrived on the South Coast overnight, and conditions are bumpy early. It’s also very small, with surf only around 1′ along the stretch from Middleton – Goolwa. Waits and Parson’s will be bigger, Waits might offer partial sheltered up toward the point – but not for very much longer. Strong Southerly winds are expected to arrive soon, and gusts might be up to 30 knots by late morning. The whole coast will be a mess not long after the wind arrives, and it’ll stay that way. The swell should lift after lunch, but quality looks very poor. Check the latest surf forecast to see how the rest of the week is shaping up.

Mid Coast

The wind is unexpectedly light from the ESE on the Mid Coast early, and conditions are clean… but still flat. There actually were a few 1′ waves late yesterday, but there’s no sign of anything like it this morning with only the tiniest lines visible. The tide is heading out, and it’ll get very low after 10am. Fresh southerlies are forecast, possibly up to 25 knots by early arvo. Anywhere exposed will be wind affected, and anywhere sheltered won’t be breaking. Some new swell should start to sneak in late arvo, so there;’s a chance of a small wave and shelter at the Southern end of South Port. Seas are smooth and glassy on the Sout Coast this morning with very light North winds, but the swell is tiny. There are a few 1′ waves at Middleton and rare 2′ sets down toward Cliffs and Goolwa, but it’s mostly struggling to break. Waits or Parson’s are about your only hope for a shortboard wave this morning. The wind will probably pick up from the North to maybe 15 knots, but it won’t be all that strong. It also looks like dropping out again after lunch, possibly glassing off again ahead of a late Southerly change. Swell will remain small all day today. Light North winds are adding a slightly brushed look on the Mid Coast this morning, but it’s clean and glassy early. The flatness continues, and there is absolutely zero swell getting into the gulf. Check the latest surf forecast to see how the new week is shaping up. The tide is draining out to a very low 0.27m at 11am, which will exose a lot of reef after 10am. Northerly winds are predicted to pick up after sunrise, possibly blowing 15 – 20 knots for a while. The breeze will drop out again after lunch, ahead of a Southerly change this evening. Surf will remain flat all day. Check the latest surf forecast to see how the new week is shaping up.

South Coast

Conditions are clean and glassy on the South Coast early with very light NNE winds, but the swell has eased overnight. Surf is back to around 1′ at Middleton, and it’s sort of weak and re-formy along the Day St.- Goolwa stretch. The sets are maybe 2′ but mots waves seem to be flopping over and then rolling through the gutter. Waits and Parson’s should offer something slightly more exciting for shortboarders, and both beaches will be clean. The BoM predicts North winds will pick up this morning, possibly reading 20 – 30 knots at times. The wind should ease off again after lunch, but by that stage it will probably have blown what’s left of the swell flat. Check the latest surf forecast to see how the new week is shaping up.

Mid Coast

There was about 7 drops of rain around 0530am on the Mid Coast, but now it’s just muggy and calm with no wind. The sea is glassy and it’s also dead flat, with zero evidence of any swell. The tide is running out yo a low at 1125, and being very low ti will expose a lot of the reefs after 10am.By then the wind looks like it will have picked up from the NNE, and it lay reach 20 knots before it eases off again. It doesn’t look like it’ll glass off again later, but you never know. In any case the North wind will take the shine off for a while, and it’ll stay dead flat today. South Coast

There’s plenty of swell on the South Coast this morning, but fresh SE winds all day yesterday and overnight have left it pretty messy. The wind is light from the East early, and the swell is broken up and lumpy between Middleton and Goolwa with surf in the 4 – 5′ range. There’s not as much swell getting in around the other side of Port Elliot, with 3′ lumps at Knight’s and similar sized lumpy waves at Chiton Rocks and The Gap. Parsoon’s will be sheltered in beside the point, but probably closing out a fair bit. The wind looks like it may go NE late morning at 10 -15 knots, bit probably SE after lunch. The swell will ease during the day, and conditions will stay messy. Check the latest surf forecast to see how tomorrow looks.

Md Coast

East winds are blowing around 15 – 20 knots on the Mid Coast this morning, not that it matters – it’s as flat as it gets. There is almost no whitewater anywhere on the outgoing tide, and even though low tide at 10:45 it’ll be lucky if it breaks. The wind should lighten off after 10am so the sea will remain smooth for the better part of the morning. There’s no chance of any swell popping up on the incoming tide after lunch, and we might even get a sea breeze and a few bumps. More likely though, the wind will go to a fresh sou-easter again by late arvo evening. It’ll stay dead flat all day. Check the latest surf forecast to see how tomorrow looks.

South Coast

The South Coast is rocking that awful summer look this morning despite light winds from the East early. There’s plenty of swell but it’s a mess, with surf ranging from 4 – 5′ along the Middleton – Goolwa stretch. It’s also a good size between Port Elliot and Victor with 5′ sets hitting the Knight’s / Boomer end and 2′ lumps at The Dump. Waits and Parson’s will be off limits, but there may be a few sneaky options that side of VH worth checking. The wind will go more Southerly by lunchtime and might blow up to 25 knots, trashing it further. The current swell has probably peaked, and it’ll ease over the next 36 hours. The outlook is a bit better for the weekend, check the latest surf forecast for more info.
