South Coast

Winds are almost trying to go offshore on the South Coast this morning, tending ENE at 5 – 7 knot. Swell has lifted overnight and is lined up, but a bit lumpy from days of SE-S wind. Surf is around 3′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch, and glassy 2′ around at Chiton / Gap.  Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger, 4′ or more, and winds will favour Parson’s. The next few hours is probably the bext of it, and conditions will deteriorate as winds go back around to the SE-S at 15 – 20 knots after lunch. Swell will kick a bit during the day, so there may be some sneaky options beyond Victor – somewhere between the rising swell and winds going dead onshore. Shred factor 6/10

Mid Coast

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with offshore ESE winds around 12 knots, and finally some new swell. Coming up to high tide at 0650 surf is around 1 – 2′ on the reefs. It may even lift a bit around sunrise, but the dropping tide will adversely effect high tide spots mid morning. The other reefs ( Triggs, Seaford ) should improve a bit on the dropping tide, and low water will favour the beachies through the lunch hour. The incoming tide will probably provide a bit of a lift, but SE winds are forecast to shift more Southerly at 15 knots, adding bumps. The Southern end of South Port and Kiddie’s corner will be part sheltered. Winds should bo back to a sou-easter and  clean it up toward sunset. Swell will stick around all day by the looks.  Shred factor 7/10

South Coast

We’re back to onshores on the South Coast this morning, with SSW winds at 10 knots adding some bumps. Aside from that, swell is very W-SW so it’s pretty small, with surf only around 1′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch.  Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger and possibly glassy early, but everywhere will fall prey to stronger onshores soon. The forecast predicts S-SW winds up to 20 knots which means slops for the rest of the day, and the weekend looks like more of the same. Shred factor 5/10

Mid Coast

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with light offshore ESE winds, but swell remains small. Coming up to high tide surf is maybe a foot when the sets hit the reefs, but smaller in between. The dropping tide won’t help much, although the beachies might have some learner waves through low tide at lunchtime. It’ll still be small early arvo, but as the tide starts to push we should see some new W-SW swell start to build. Unfortunately, so too will SSW winds, which are forecast to get up around 20 knots  by mid arvo. It’ll bumpy for most of it, with a shift back to SE winds probably too late to save it. South Coast

Winds are actually wafting light offshore on the South Coast early, but a few days of sou-easters have left it lumpy. Surf is around 1 – 2′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch, Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger, glassy early, and your best hope for a shortboard wave. The forecast predicts onshore S-SW winds up to 20 knots as the sea breeze kicks in after lunch, so the next few hours are about as good as it’ll get.  Shred factor 6/10

Mid Coast

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with light offshore East winds, but swell remains small. Heading through high tide the reefs are picking up ankle slappers with rare bigger sets, but nothing really surfable. The dropping tide won’t help much, although the beachies might have some tiny peelers through low tide at lunchtime. The incoming tide won’t see much change in terms of size, but a sea breeze will kick in and add bumps for most of the arvo. A late sou-easter will clean it up a bit in the evening. Shred factor 1/10

South Coast

It’s not looking too flash  on the South Coast this morning with onshore South winds around 12 knots and small, sloppy swell.  Surf is around 1 – 2′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch, Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger but no cleaner. The forecast predicts onshore S-SW winds up to 20 knots after lunch, so it’ll stay lumpy / messy all day. Swell may build slightly after lunch but quality will remain pretty dismal all day. Mid Coast

It’s a bit grey and overcast on the Mid Coast this morning, but conditions are clean with light SE wind. Surf remains tiny, and it’s barely shin high just coming off a fairly high morning tide. Nothing much will change as the tide drops, and even the beachies will struggle to break through low tide late morning. Like the last few days winds will pick up from the South, tending S-SW at 15 – 20 knots after lunch. It’ll be bumpy and near flat on the incoming tide.  Shred factor 1/10

South Coast

Light onshores overnight have left lumpy conditions on the South Coast this morning, continuing the typical summer slops. Surf is around 2 – 3′ along Middleton – Goolwa stretch, Waits and Parson’s will be a bit bigger but no cleaner. The forecast predicts onshore SE-S winds up to 20 knots after lunch, so it’ll stay lumpy / messy all day. Try Dribs point if you’re desperate. Shred factor 4/10

Mid Coast

Conditions are clean on the Mid Coast early with East winds around 7 knts, but swell remains small this morning. Waves are only around shin-high on the reefs, with the tide heading out until 1150. The lower tide will only offer learner waves on the beachies, and like the last few days the sea breeze will kick on late morning and add bumps for the arvo. Sou-easters will return in the evening.  Shred factor 1/10
